Job Purpose: Manage the workflow, capacity, and supervision of the instructional design team. Fulfill the roles and responsibilities of an instructional designer. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations for the supervised employees.
Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the instructional design team. Manage the instructional design process, including capacity planning, assignment of work, and evaluation and quality control of work.
Design and develop course curricula and instructional materials in support of faculty teaching efforts. Create new courses and programs and enhance and improve existing course offerings, both credit and non-credit.
Represent the instructional design team and serve as the main point of contact for the instructional and curricular design projects.
Supervise and coordinate the evaluation and recommendation of academic technology tools and platforms.
Assist and make recommendations for strategic planning, forecasting, and growth of the instructional design team.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Master's degree in Instructional Systems, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience: Seven to eight years job related experience that includes three to five years of supervisory experience
This job requires advanced expertise in instructional design principles, learning theory, and student learning processes; skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with faculty in multiple academic areas; ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and portfolios; ability to create online courses using appropriate technology tools and platforms; ability to write and manage grant proposals, and manage internal and outsourced resources; desire and motivation to learn, grow professionally and actively improve oneself; ability to successfully supervise instructional design/educational technology teams; ability to successfully manage complex projects; advanced collaboration and teamwork skills; ability to work with tight deadlines and under pressure; knowledge of planning, managing, producing, directing, implementing, leading, and evaluating courses and programs for a variety of age groups; positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability; exceptional organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and evidence of career progression with increasing work responsibilities.

Preferred Certifications: Quality Matters, EDUCAUSE Learning Technology Leadership or similar certifications in instructional or academic technology, Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), portfolio management certification
