Position Summary

The Instructional Designer designs educational programs that will address the needs of JetBlue corporate and operational Crewmembers, while fulfilling Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for regulatory and non-regulatory training programs when applicable. As part of this role, the Instructional Designer manages client relationships, designs highly effective training and performance support materials based off sound learning principles, and manages projects effectively. This involves partnering with Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and designated leads using consulting skills to perform needs analysis, select the right delivery option(s), design the solution, and support corporate-wide training initiatives. The Instructional Designer should also be able to develop online or print-based instructional materials to adhere to internal Style & Brand guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Works as an instructional design consultant with Leadership, JBU colleges, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), project leads, and Business Partners for training needs during all phases of learning solution development

  • Works independently, with SMEs, or with guidance from peers or Leadership to design educational programs in multiple delivery platforms as assigned, including but not limited to: rapid-development, video, eLearning, and classroom training

  • Partners with the other Learning Design peers to effectively contribute to all phases including content development, release, support, evaluation and revision cycle

  • Works within guidelines and recommendations for processes and procedures related to Instructional Design

  • Provides quality assurance on developed content

  • Works with Leadership and peers to design, support, and maintain strategic initiatives including but not limited to: new program development, program evaluation, course maintenance, and process documentation

  • Keeps abreast of new and developing trends in training and adult learning and applies them to Learning Design initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related discipline

  • One (1) year experience with adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development or performance improvement

  • Experience consulting with clients to determine the best instructional solutions and/or strategies

  • Experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize information/data and provide appropriate recommendations for learning solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a strong attention to detail

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work well with others as part of a team

  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing information and priorities

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Airline industry experience

  • Three (3) years' experience with adult learning, instructional design, professional development, curriculum development, or performance improvement

  • Experience working in learning development tools, such as Articulate Studio or Storyline

  • Proficient with SharePoint

  • Agile and flexible to contribute to multiple project types simultaneously

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Responsibilities: Supports Guy Carpenter by providing deep technical expertise and value add in a defined area of specialization by: * Developing a learning curriculum for designated areas of GC, focusing on the creation, delivery and communication of learning and training programs, tools and processes. * Integrating digital learning tools and other innovative and process convenient platforms where possible into program and curricula design. * Works closely with internal clients and appropriate consulting organizations for complex regions to facilitate initiative customization and delivery, improve existing processes as well as document changes that are implemented. * Partnering with experts and using resources and tools created by COEs and external vendors to provide learning advice, peer review and enable resources for the business on a regular basis.
