Title: Instructional System Designer, Government

Job Summary
This person will be responsible for creating live, e-learning and video instructional content to meet the specific subject matter requirements of a fast-paced and matrixed federal organization. They will serve in a primarily telework stance for a six-month period with potential for extension based on performance, and report directly to an off-site Program Manager while functionally taking daily direction from the organization's Dean, Staff Academy. A proven background in instructional design is desired as well as the flexibility, agility and high level of personal organization required to meet the needs of a fast-paced organization with stakeholders with varying interests.
This position is primarily remote. However, there could be work onsite as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Conceptualize and execute the design of custom content drawing from existing FranklinCovey content.
Pursue excellence in product offerings but also in the betterment of design/development processes.
Help build a center of excellence around instructional design specifically for the Government team.
Work with graphic designers, video producers, and a wide variety of stakeholders
Review the overall production of custom content for the Government team ensuring high quality solutions.
Basic Qualifications
Preferred Skills & Experience
Degree/certification in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Distance Learning, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to identify and apply technical and behavioral performance improvement solutions to help achieve organizational goals.
Demonstrated expertise in Articulate Storyline 360 and proven knowledge of/experience with Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software.
Skill/experience with graphic design and animation tools preferred.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Comfort with interacting with a diverse population of stakeholders and subject matter experts, and receiving, interpreting and implementing feedback.
Proven experience in writing, reviewing, and editing storyboards.
Proven knowledge of the ADDIE process, and Kirkpatrick's 4 levels of evaluation.
Complex problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
Develop course materials for instructor-led trainings: slide decks, facilitator guides, participant guides.
Design web-based trainings and instructional videos with other materials for specific training purposes.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
Excellent organizational skills.
