The Global Education department designs, develops, and maintains educational content for Motorola Solutions employees, partners, and customers. We collaborate with multiple teams worldwide to ensure that our training programs are clear, understandable, accessible, and inclusive to everyone who takes them.
Job Description
As an Instructional Designer and Developer, your core function will be to design and develop educational content for a diverse audience, including employees, partners, and customers, emphasizing a learner-centered approach. From determining the need for the training and forming its learning objectives to developing the final product, you will be directly involved in each project's lifecycle. Additionally, you will manage and maintain your assets, ensuring they are up to date, meet the latest quality and branding standards, and respond to customer feedback. The role is dynamic and multifaceted, requiring a blend of creative, technical, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in design methodologies, project management, and stakeholder engagement, with a solid commitment to quality and learner satisfaction.
Collaboration
The candidate in this role will work directly with internationally dispersed professionals and teams of Subject Matter Experts, Instructors, Project Managers, and Product Owners. Therefore, clarifying unknowns, taking initiative, and identifying potential risks is a must-have.
Motorola Product Knowledge
As an Instructional Design and Developer, you will gain a deep understanding of the features, functions, and applicability of Motorola Solutions products and services in the portfolio/technology you are assigned to. Prior experience or knowledge is a plus, and the willingness to rapidly obtain such knowledge is required.
Education and Experience
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphics Design, Media Design, or English Language is required.
Basic Requirements
Advanced skills in English language - level C1 or higher
Good writing skills (scripts and technical content).
Background in Instructional Design such as creating curriculum, learning objectives, and training structure.
Background in course development such as creating, online courses, video simulations, and interactive simulations.
Familiarity with Articulate 360 applications such as Storyline and Rise.
Strong graphic and multimedia design sensibilities.
Attention to detail, ability to follow complex processes, styles, and quality guidelines
Ability to complete assignments with moderate supervision
Strong team player skills with the ability to work in a fast‐paced, rapidly changing environment
Additional Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in creating engaging training courses from technical content
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of Blender, 3D Creation Suite
Basic knowledge of image and audio editing software
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Knowledge of e-learning industry standards, tools, and design techniques
