What you will do:
The Instructional Designer will manage the design and development of complex in-person, online, and/or blended courses in support of all initiatives across a rapidly growing regional Commercial Bank. This role will collaborate with other colleagues in the Training and Education department to support the organizational objects and ensure that our colleagues are receiving the best and most informative training possible.
Promotes the most current knowledge of latest industry tools and processes to ensure training is innovative, engaging, and on the cutting edge of training technology. Actively identifies opportunities to implement these tools within SNB. Coaches others on the use of latest technologies such as micro-learning, creating videos, blended learning.
Builds and manages Sterling University as needed which includes: ensuring instructional design practices are imbedded in every aspect of Sterling University, marketing & communicating offerings using technology/innovative modes, managing stakeholders, sourcing best practices from other companies and other tasks as needed.
Creates and implements evaluation plans to demonstrate business impact of most training initiatives.
Promotes collaboration and partnership and develops solid working relationships with subject matter experts and all participants in a design projects whether leading the projects or as a participant.
Conducts training needs assessment, analyzes and researches the technology and infrastructure available to meet client needs, expectations, resources, constraints, learning needs, learning gaps, and tasks in relation to the organization's mission and goals.
Follows comprehensive instructional design process from needs analysis through implementation and post launch evaluation. Serves as creative and planning resource to colleagues. Presents training options, delivery methods and techniques.
Educates colleagues on instructional design best practices.
Position locations - Manhattan, Long Island or Yonkers
4+ years of experience in instructional design, with demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and educational technology best practice.
4+ years of experience in project management and project leadership preferred.
Candidates with advanced degrees (Associates, Bachelor's, and/or Master's) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or else extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration.
Training or project management Certification in learning, project management, coaching or instructional design a plus.
Ability to use personal computer and software applications specific to instructional design (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, authoring software, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple projects to meet target dates for implementation.
Ability to quickly and effectively shift gears to meet changing business requirements.
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel.
Local travel is required, approximately 25%.
