Overview

An Instructional Designer in a healthcare setting is responsible for creating effective and engaging learning experiences that enhance knowledge and skills across various concepts such as soft skills development, systems training, and section-specific training.

This role is crucial not only for improving employee performance but also for contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilties:

  • Conducting thorough needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and training requirements, designing and developing comprehensive training curricula that incorporate various instructional methods, and creating high-quality instructional materials such as manuals, guides, job aids, and multimedia content.

  • The Instructional Designer also develops assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs, leverages technology to create interactive and immersive learning experiences, and collaborates with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content.

  • Additionally, they manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in instructional design and adult learning theories, and ensure all training programs comply with healthcare regulations and standards.

  • Effective task management and communication are essential to ensure that all instructional design projects are completed efficiently and effectively, meeting the desired outcomes and timelines.

Work Location: Hybrid

Salary Min: $26.16/hr and Mid: $35.31/hr

Description

  • Works with subject matter experts to design, develop and deploy e-learning courseware content for self-paced learning modules delivered electronically.

  • Converts presentations and classroom based learning to e-Learning and blended learning formats.

  • Performs quality testing on courseware distributed via the LMS. Works with end users to gather feedback and enhancement requests for e-Learning modules and the LMS.

  • Provides first line support to end users of the LMS and web-based training modules.

  • Implements training programs which support the Vision, Mission, and Values of Emory Healthcare.

  • Supports other training to support ablended learning approach.

  • Conducts all sessions in accordance with IACET guidelines for those requesting CEU's.

  • Participates on the E-learning Governance Committee.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred;

  • Three years experience in e-learning and blended learning development.

  • Seasoned experience with learning management systems is required.

  • Healthcare experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Instructional Design experience

  • Project Management experience
