Instructional Design Specialist duties:

Perform consulting and front-end analysis in a corporate training environment
Analyze client training needs and work with clients to determine training requirements and innovative solutions for target audience
Research and analyze content from a variety of sources and facilitate design sessions with key stakeholders, SMEs and global project teams Design
Demonstrate ability to design learning including Design Scopes, Content Roadmaps, Storyboards and Scripts to client specifications within project limitations (budget, timeline, etc.)
Design and develop instructional material in a corporate and consultative setting
Utilize performance industry standards
Develop Web-based learning, Videos, Instructor-led training, Guides (such as job aids, quick reference guides, infographics) and blended solutions
Employ graphic design concepts, desktop publishing methods and working with global multimedia teams

May supervise or serve as a lead worker providing training to lower level staff. Job Specific Duties: Under general direction of the Engineering Software Support Manager, assists in managing the functions of the Office of Design Policy and Support. Serves as a Department resource in handling Engineering Software and Document Management related issues and/or problems. Assists with management of the Office's Technical Budget and Software Contracts. Serves as Lead Worker and Liaison for assigned projects and reports status at scheduled team meetings. This work is done predominantly in an office setting with some day trips and rare overnight travel required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR * Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR * One year of experience required at the lower level Transportation Specialist (TRP053) or position equivalent AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Demonstrated experience with managing budgets, contracts, and resource allocation with minimal oversight within the area of assignment * Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze problems, and to recall and adapt solutions previously created for similar problems as well as to imaginatively apply sound engineering principles and department policies to develop and implement innovative solutions where routine or established practices prove inadequate. * Possess the ability to perform computations and solve practical problems by choosing the appropriate technique; to select, request and manage expertise and resources department-wide to address utilities related problems in order to make sound and well-informed decisions. * Self-motivated and displays a professional image. * Display high standards of ethical conduct and the ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve goals. * Possesses the ability to organize work and set priorities yet is open to change and new information. * Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment toward completing assignments. * Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret written material. * Possess strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to express ideas and facts to groups and individuals effectively. * Committed to providing quality customer service. * Ability to travel throughout state as needed.
