Human Resources develops and implements our "team members, candidates, and operational" strategies to support Wells Fargo's business objectives. This group manages compensation and benefits, human resource service centers, systems and payroll, team member relations and assistance, talent management, learning and development, and recruiting. The Instructional Design Consultant (IDC) will consult with business partners and Learning & Development professionals, utilizing knowledge of instructional design (ID) methodology. The IDC will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and assessing success of strategic learning programs for multiple business units. Self-management of projects and meeting expected deadlines is critical.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently consults and develops training strategy for curriculum needs.

  • Collaborate with various partners to plan and/or implement training solutions, based on identified needs and training gaps for a given Wells Fargo audience.

  • Partners with Human Resources leaders, Learning and Development leaders, and business unit leaders as an internal consultant to identify learning interventions and define developmental needs that require an evaluation of various factors.

  • Apply sound instructional design methodology to recommend solutions that meet business and learning objectives.

  • Exercise independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices.

  • Manage risk in all aspects of analysis of training solutions.

  • May function as a project team lead, monitoring the work of others to ensure alignment with team and company standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of instructional design experience
  • 2+ years of Learning and Development consulting experience
  • 2+ years of experience creating strategy performance based solutions

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience identifying tasks required of a learner and prioritizing those tasks for training design and development

  • Knowledge and understanding of instructional design and development for multiple methods of delivery (instructor led paper-based, virtual, and e-learning)

  • Knowledge and understanding of ADDIE model for instructional design

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning or education: facilitation and instructional design

  • Project management experience with instructional design projects

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in Instructional Design or related discipline

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
