Brantner Elementary, part of 27J Schools, is currently seeking an Instructional Coach/Data Interventionist to provide services and support to school staff. This is a full-time, or 1.0 FTE position that is eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of data collection, staff development, and program evaluation

  • Support teachers in creating interventions and accessing resources for both instructional effectiveness and to meet students' needs

  • Work with teachers to implement "Thinking Classroom" and 27J Instructional Model

  • Support EL instruction through the following research-based practices: observation, coaching, modeling lessons, collaborative lesson planning, small and large group PD, co-teaching, SIOP, and ELD instruction

  • Collaborate with teams to assist with disaggregating and analyzing data to help guide Teacher's instructional decisions

  • Collaboratively plan and facilitate data dialogues with administration, certified staff, and classified staff and prepare for schedule, resources provider and co-facilitate dialogues

  • Coach teacher (regular education and special education), classified interventionist, and administrators in leading district initiatives regarding intervention programming, improved instruction, and increased student learning

  • Design and implement high quality professional development, instructional coaching, and consultation services to promote quality instructional programming and practices for all students

  • Use technology for data entry, teaching, planning, communicating, student learning and assessments

Required Qualifications:

  • A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License.

  • Colorado Department of Education "In Field" by CDE endorsement or qualifications to teach the posted subject area.

  • The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.

  • The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team.. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)

  • The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).

  • A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.

Summary Description: The College and Career Readiness Coach (CCR) is a critical lever in improving student achievement. The role of the CCR is to build teacher capacity in their understanding of best instructional practices as related to the Thinking Classroom/GEL, school and district UIP, curricular frameworks, common assessments, and resources specifically related to all students gaining access to rigorous courses. In addition the CCR will provide students with strategies to promote critical thinking, inquiry, organization, note-taking, and study skills. The CCR will promote reflection, provide guidance and structure where needed, and focus on strengths, collaboration, and common issues of concern. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms. The College and Career Readiness Coach serves as : Instructional Coach; Data Coach; Resource Provider; Learning Facilitator; School Leader Duties and Responsibilities: * Support the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the Curricular Frameworks, common and formative assessments, and data-driven dialogue through the PLC structure and Cycles of Continuous Improvement. * Provide direction and coordination for actualizing the school UIP consistent with 2038/Thinking Classroom and recognized best instructional practices. * Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources. * Support teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels. * Develop staff members' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through leading a variety of professional learning opportunities. * Support students with skills necessary for success in rigorous courses through instruction in strategies in critical thinking, inquiry, organization, note-taking, and study skills. * Participate in the monthly Authentic Learning Team facilitated by the Professional Learning Instructional Specialist. * Model professionalism at all times for the purpose of demonstrating expected behaviors and actions of SD 27J employees. Qualifications: * A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License. * Colorado Department of Education "In Field" by CDE endorsement or qualifications to teach the posted subject area. * The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously. * The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. * The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on). * A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning through use of AVID strategies. * ESL knowledge and experience working with second language learners preferred.
