MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Education with extensive coursework and experience as a lead teacher/coach

  • Valid DESE Certification required and coursework related to Instructional Coaching, Curriculum, or Administration is preferred

  • Classroom teaching experience of 6+ years preferred as well as evidence of proficiency/distinguished status on the Educator Evaluation Model

  • Must understand the Missouri Teacher Standards and align instruction with best practices

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

An individual who holds this position is required to carry out the following duties:

  • Curriculum and Content Facilitator-Serve as a content and instructional specialist to assist in the development and implementation of instructional plans that align to district goals and curriculum.

  • Collaborate with the assistant superintendent, building administration, and teachers to review and develop aligned curriculum components including assessments.

  • Professional Learning Facilitator-Work with the assistant superintendent, building administration, and the professional development committee to design and provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught, and assessed curriculum to increase student success.

  • Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers through modeling, engaging, standards-based teaching as needed.

  • Work with building administration and teachers in planning standards-based lessons and assessments aligned to the district curriculum.

  • Support new teacher training in the summer and throughout the school year.

  • Support the MVR-III Professional Development Plan.

  • Support summer school programming.

  • Instructional Supporter-Work with teachers and building administration to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs, and identify and implement effective, research-based instructional strategies.

  • Provide demonstration lessons, individual and/or group instructional coaching, and mentoring to teachers.

  • Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom.

  • Observe and provide feedback to teachers.

  • Instructional Leader-Establish a sustained presence in schools and District level committees working collaboratively to support District goals.

  • Serve on the District Professional Development Committee, District Leadership Team, and the Curriculum/Textbook Review Committee.

  • Resource-Manage and support instructional resources available to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources when appropriate.

  • Support the purchase of instructional resources for summer school programming.

  • Oversee partnerships with school to pair tutors with children for educational support.

  • Learner-Collaborate with other District Instructional Coaches and Assistant Superintendent.

  • Continue to develop professionally as an instructional coach by attending regular internal, instructional coaching training and collaborating with outside instructional coaching networks.

TERMS: Full-time with benefits; Placement on Teacher Salary Schedule with additional 30 days

EFFECTIVE: 2024-2025 school year

SCREENING TO BEGIN: Immediately; open until filled

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

Recommendation to be given at the May 2024, Board of Education Meeting.
