INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

Through the instructional coach, the school provides a professional who focuses on curriculum, instruction, and assessments, and who assists others at the school in improving their knowledge and skills in teaching. An instructional coach may focus on just one area of curriculum, usually literacy or math, or may serve as a resource for all instructional areas. The RCS instructional coaches, will focus their instructional support in the area of literacy, but will provide assessment and data analysis support in both literacy and math. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Be present, on time and ready to work. Support for Robust Instruction Classroom Supporter: Increase the quality and effectiveness of classroom instruction through observing, lesson modeling, co-teaching, mentoring, feedback, and reflection. Instructional Specialist: Align instruction with curriculum to meet the needs of all students. Collaborative Planner: Assist in instructional planning, and expand teachers' use of a variety of resources to improve instruction. Implementation of the School's Reading Plan and/or School Improvement Plan Visionary: Assist in the creation and monitoring of specific measurable instructional goals. Assessment Specialist: Assist in training on assessment administration. Data-Driven Instruction Monitor: Ensure that student achievement data is routinely collected and reported, and is used to drive instructional decisions at the school and classroom level. Professional Development Facilitator: In conjunction with the school principal, provide intensive professional development on core, supplemental, and intervention programs and best practices. Curriculum Specialist: Assist the school's Reading Leadership Team in the implementation of the adopted SBRR instructional program. Team Meeting Trainer: Assist grade level teams in using grade level team meetings to plan collaboratively and review student data to drive instructional decisions. Reading Specialist Trained in Dyslexia - Assist in training staff on Dyslexia.
Facilitation of Data Analysis and Use of Data Data Coach:
Assist teacher in analyzing data from a district, school, grade-level, classroom, and individual student perspective.
