Position Description
The School of Applied Sciences at The University of Mississippi is seeking applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the Oxford Campus. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track position.
Applicants must have a Master of Social Work (MSW), hold or be eligible for social work licensure (LMSW or LCSW) in the State of Mississippi, have at least two years of social work practice experience beyond their MSW, and have a strong history of successfully teaching in-person and online courses. The successful candidate may begin as early as August 2024.
The successful candidate will teach courses in the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and the Master of Social Work (MSW) program on the Oxford Campus. In addition, the candidate may have opportunities to teach in the online Master of Social Work (MSW) program that is currently under development.
The hire will maintain expertise in assigned areas of teaching, involvement in research/community engagement/scholarship sufficient to be recognized as graduate teaching faculty, assist with student recruitment, retention, and graduation. In addition, the hire will develop and/or teach undergraduate and/or graduate online courses, monitor student progress, assist with field service records, field instructor training, development and maintenance of internship sites, and serve on various departmental committees.
