Assists with appropriate classroom activities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Assists with instructional programs and general school operations. * Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning. * Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children. * Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children. * Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children. * Provides escorts assistance for children as necessary. * Helps maintain informal student performance records. * Assists teacher(s) in maintaining student work and study areas. * Assists with the supervision of children during play periods. * Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays. * Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties listed above. 60 college credit hours* OR Associate's degree or higher (Emphasis on teaching)* OR Missouri ParaPro Assessment passing score (before September 23, 2013)* OR Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (September 23, 2013 and after)* OR Completed Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program. * Ability and personality to work with colleagues, teachers, and other staff. * Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Year:10 MonthSalary: Instructional Assistants Range on the District Instructional Assistants Salary Schedule
