Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 years of age or older Education equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade.

A minimum of 12 Core Early Childhood Education (ECE) semester units completed with a grade of C or better required. Core courses include: Child Growth and Development, Child Family Community, Curriculum, Elective.

Must have completed or enroll in and successfully complete 3 semester units or equivalent of infant/toddler coursework required for Infant/Toddler classrooms within probationary period. For designated opening or closing shift positions, the following additional educational or course requirements must be met prior to hire: completion of at least 15 hours of training on preventive health practices and successful completion of 3 or more semester units or equivalent of ECE/CD Program Administration/Staff Relation

JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Preschool Director and daily supervision of the Child Development Specialist, assist in providing care, supervision and instruction to infants, toddlers, and preschool children in a classroom or other learning environment; assist with planning and implementing a variety of activities to meet the needs and interests of the children; perform a variety of clerical support duties. Assist with curriculum implementation including full compliance with the State Department of Education, Child Development Division Funding Terms and conditions, Title 5 regulations and Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations.
