Job Summary

Under the direction of the Principal, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of limited or non-English speaking students by translating written materials and oral lectures in a classroom environment; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; serve as an interpreter for parent conferences, meetings and telephone calls; perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel.

Requirements / Qualifications

One (1) Position 5.75-hour, TK / K inder

• Terry 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Per mutual agreement, a 30 minute

• Three (3) Letters of Recommendation

• ESSA Compliance Verification

Qualifications: • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year experience working with children in an educational or learning environment. • Incumbents are eligible to advance from Range 15 to Range 16 by passing the Bilingual Examination with a passing rate of 70% or higher. • Incumbents must meet requirements specified under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) o Obtained an associate's or higher degree (college level) OR o Completed at least two years of study that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours at an institution of higher education OR o Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics. Must provide verification of ESSA compliance to be considered for an interview
