Job Description:


The Instructional Designer and Developer will analyze learning needs and create state-of-the-art solutions for self-paced and instructor led instruction. Additionally, the ISD will assess and report on the effectiveness and ROI of training programs. The ideal candidate will have Medicare knowledge, health care experience, and familiarity with e-learning authoring tools.

Fundamental Components:

Collaborates with the Learning Solution team to deliver state-of-the-art, traditional and technology-based training tools and programs that meet the needs of multiple, diverse audiences.

Ability to management multiple fast paced projects at one time - project management own learning projects.

Assess, design, develop, implement and evaluate learning materials, multimedia, and job aids in accordance with adult learning methodologies and the ISD process.

Employ instructional design principles appropriate to the audience and work environment.

Conduct structured needs analysis and provides detailed recommendations.

Design programs using a systematic instructional design process with an outcomes-based methodology.

Develops and conducts follow-up assessments to evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of training programs.

Continuously review and maintain existing training materials and programs based on audit results, assessments, changing procedures and business client feedback to maximize effectiveness through the use of "learner focused" environments, instructional design principles and accelerated learning methods.

Lead training measurement standards and ensures process consistency.

Manages and maintain training content libraries and source documentation; collaboration and public areas.

Effectively manages curriculum, reporting and other relevant administrative requirements through the LMS.

Designs and maintains internal websites and SharePoint sites. Simultaneously participates on and/or leads multiple project teams.

Updates and modernizes existing materials.


Strong instructional design and development background

Intermediate knowledge of Articulate storyline or Adobe captivate

Experience in application of performance-based instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, performance consulting and educational media desired.
5+ years expience in a managed care or related business
5 - 10+ years managed care/ health insurance industry experience.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

POSITION SUMMARY: Without supervision, lead an engineering team (Project Engineer) or become a subject matter expert (SME) in an assigned specialty to support new and existing projects. Products include shock and vibration isolation mounts, laminated elastomer bearing based components for offshore riser and tendon connections as well as military applications, industrial clutch and brakes and hang-off systems for offshore riser components. Requires closely partnering with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality and project management. Some interface with Customers, certifying authorities and material/outside fabrication vendors also required. ENGINEERING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * If designated a SME for Product design, thorough knowledge of the associated industry standards, in-house codes and engineering principles that govern the design of assigned product lines * If designated a SME for CAE/FEA support, thorough knowledge of a particular code (SolidWorks, ABAQUS or Numerical Analysis) is required and must be capable of independently setting up a model and associated boundary conditions, and troubleshooting convergence issues. Interpret the results, recognize erroneous output and recommend design solutions * If designated a Project Engineer, acting as a single point of contact with the Project Manager to coordinate engineering activities with design, analysis, drafting, manufacturing engineering and technical writing * Lead research and development projects in terms of new products and materials * Lead the design, construction and testing of prototypes to confirm new designs and materials * Direct interface with Customers and Certifying Authorities, justifying our products meet project/industry standard requirements * Mentor less experienced team members * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 4 years of direct experience; BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 5 years of experience; or at least 10 years of direct experience without a degree * Advanced experience as a detail component/structural design engineer if a Product Design SME * Advanced experience with Computer-aided-engineering /design software, including advanced level of proficiency using with SolidWorks or AutoCAD if a Product Design SME * Advanced experience with FEA experience, including advanced level of proficiency using with SIMULIA Abaqus if a CAE/FEA SME * Demonstrated level of experience leading engineering project teams if a Project Engineer * Applied theory in designing with elastomeric materials * Advanced level of experience with data analysis * Excellent organizational skills * Detail-focused and results-oriented attitude with a sense of urgency * Handle multiple tasks at one time * Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills * 5% to 10% travel required, including international travel PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Office environment – prolonged sitting, use of a computer, telephone and other office equipment * Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs * Lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally We may also consider candidates for a Mechanical Design Engineer II position depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the business.
