Job Summary
The Institutional Research Analyst will work in the Office of Assessment & Institutional Research to provide data analysis and data support for Enrollment Management operations at UWM. As a part of their efforts, they will provide core business process data support to the Registrar's Office, work with other units in the Division of Enrollment Management to determine their data needs, create and maintain interactive dashboards for staff to obtain data as they need it, yield insights from data analysis, respond to ad hoc data requests, and participate in campus‐wide data/reporting communities and groups. The role will also provide consultation to campus report writers on interpreting student data and will work closely with campus database administrators to determine how data flows out of the student information system and into the data warehouse.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one-year of experience building dashboards or reports using business intelligence/analytics software (e.g., Power BI, OBIEE, Tableau)
Minimum of three years of experience with data reporting, relational databases, and quantitative research; or a combination of education and experience
Experience presenting technical concepts and data-related insights to lay audiences
Evidence of possessing basic knowledge of descriptive statistics
Experience validating the accuracy of data
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher
Experience leading collaborative projects
Experience designing and completing quantitative research projects
Experience performing complex data analyses and reporting
Experience in a higher education setting
Experience building relationships with diverse populations across units
Demonstrated experience working with populations that have been historically underrepresented in higher education (e.g., first-generation, Pell students, etc.)
Experience and knowledge in research that develops alternative ways to think about positionality, data creation and its dissemination, by considering social justice and inequities
