The Institutional Portfolio Specialist (IPS) is an experienced investment professional responsible for aligning investment objectives and opportunities across the firm's global income strategies including currency, interest-rate and credit markets around the world within both the retail and institutional investment marketplace. The IPS will serve as an extension of the investment management team with a focus on partnering with the Institutional Portfolio Managers on the strategies as well as Eaton Vance's broader distribution businesses. The IPS serves as a conduit to provide perspective and understanding of financial markets and Eaton Vance investment strategies, providing critical connectivity between investment teams and a broad range of stakeholders.
As the specialist on assigned products and markets, the IPS drives thought leadership initiatives and is responsible for all investment content across client- and market-facing mediums. The IPS acts as a specialized subject matter expert, serving an influential role in representing assigned investment management teams with internal Eaton Vance distribution channels and current and prospective clients, consultants, third-party gatekeepers and other marketplace constituents..
The IPS additionally focuses on delivering strategic marketplace insight to the organization, including ongoing competitive perspectives and industry trends.
Serves as the primary interface for investment communications internally and externally, focusing on transparency with respect to philosophy, process, strategy and performance.
Supports production and delivery of market-based program initiatives including views on the economy, capital markets, asset allocation strategies and alternative investments.
Provides sales and marketing support for assigned investment products, developing materials and talking points and providing investment input to marketing plans and programs.
Serving as subject matter expert for distribution businesses, maintains a comprehensive and ongoing understanding of capital markets and derivative instruments as well as assigned strategies including absolute return, emerging markets, currencies, commodities and tactical asset allocation.
Supports focus on investment and product education, as well as development of thought leadership.
Oversees the quality and integrity of client- and market-facing investment communications and marketing material.
Supports investment product development and provides insight pertaining to product enhancements.
Provides ongoing delivery of marketplace perspective, developments and trends both into and outside of the organization.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role for an asset management firm.
Strong background across both fixed income markets as well as in depth knowledge of derivative instruments.
Experience supporting both institutional and retail distribution channels including consultant and gatekeeper communities is preferred.
Successful track record of investment presentation creation and delivery to broad spectrum of constituencies.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
Series 7 and 63 is required.
Ability to travel with an expectation to average 25% of time.
