About the Role / Position Summary

Institutional Portfolio Analyst is responsible for providing ongoing support for advisory relationships. The position requires the ability to work with internal parties such as Advisors, Research, Operations, and IT, as well as external parties such as investment managers and custodians, to meet the needs of the client and Advisor that services them. The responsibilities of this position include serving as a primary point of contact with clients, preparing materials for client meetings, monitoring and analyzing client portfolios, and interacting with all interested parties to provide an exceptional client experience. The position reports to the Director of Institutional Portfolio Analysis.

What You'll Do

Client Management & Support

  • Support client relationships for the Advisor Team; participate in preparation sessions for client meetings; attend and lead client meetings as appropriate.

  • Directly handle client activities as required - including new client onboarding, client portfolio maintenance (e.g., adding/removing investment managers), portfolio rebalancing, assisting with client audits, and creating donor development pieces - with guidance from the Advisor.

  • Prepare materials for client meetings - including, but not limited to, performance reports and executive summaries, attribution analysis, risk analysis, asset allocation studies, private capital pacing and liquidity analysis, spending policy analysis, investment manager searches and recommendations, and any other analytics to meet client needs.

Investment Analysis & Expertise

  • Monitor client portfolios for adherence to appropriate benchmarks and portfolio construction guidelines as determined by the FEG Investment Policy Committee.

  • Participate in client development activities, including client prospecting, RFP editing, and Finals pitches.

  • Develop a strong understanding of FEG's investment philosophy, investment process, and manager due diligence process.

  • Attend weekly Research Team meetings.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related discipline

  • Detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint with strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills and high work ethic.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
