Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors online and in person transport orders and contacts dealers to provide information as to the status of their transport orders. Ensures accurate data has been entered into the interactive platform; addresses any discrepancies; and updates/changes orders based on inventory.

  • Processing and organizing the inbound transport requests via phone and email.

  • Working closely each day with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure excellent customer service, as laid out in the requirements of the contract, and modify current pricing strategies where necessary.

  • Maintaining constant communication with the other transportation teams to proactively identify and track possible issues with the current transport orders.

  • Actively entering data into customer spreadsheets throughout the day to keep records intact and systems up to date for customer review.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor.

  • Team Leads and Director of Transportation Operations

Qualifications

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

  • Requires incumbent to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and vendors along with a high degree of customer service orientation.

  • Skilled in attentive and active listening; patience to hear people out and accurately restating the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees. Demonstrated multifaceted oral and written communication skills that focus on customer service and its continuous improvement. Ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles to obtain the desired effect. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly over the telephone and in person in a friendly manner

  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to details. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, effectively manage projects and maintain flexibility in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently with proven problem solving and decision making skills.

  • The ability to meet deadlines consistently delegate tasks and be productive according to business reference.

  • Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge with Adobe and Microsoft office: Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Sales experience is not necessary but helpful

  • Auction or transportation experience extremely helpful

Role Description & Responsibilities: Northrop Grumman is actively seeking a motivated defense/aerospace professional with the demonstrated ability to proactively create, cultivate and enhance relationships with current and potential customers and key contacts in International industry and Government to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities. The responsibilities of the position will balance external customer relationship management activities with internal support of the daily operations of the gun business development team. The Principal Business Development Representative role reports directly to the Guns Business Development Director. The Principal Business Development Representative will: * Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential customers, Lead System Integrators, stakeholders and US embassies within the International Guns market segment. * Gather intelligence through customer interaction and market analysis to support strategic business opportunities. * Prepare pursuit briefings in support of new business acquisition. * Proactively work with external customers, internal stakeholders and International representatives and business development teams across departments and business segments to execute structured and planned business development and capture initiatives. * Develop and deliver customer presentations which communicate recommended cannon solutions that address requirements critical to providing lethal overmatch to the Warfighter. * Coordinate customer visits, internal meetings and web-based conferences in support of business development. * Perform research activities in support of new business development, capture strategy, and proposal development. * Maintain the business development CRM database for all active guns new business opportunities and pursuits. * Support live-fire demonstrations efforts as directed by the Guns Business Development Director Basic Qualifications: * 6 years' experience in Business Development, International marketing or Engineering * Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. * Self-motivated, willing to learn and interested in working uncertain and changing environment * Experience in developing and delivering presentations and leading small groups * Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. * Able to travel up to 50% of the time. * US citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: * DoD sector work; understanding of DoD market and acquisition process * Prior experience with large and medium caliber military armaments. * Previous military experience * International experience with Foreign governments, companies and or embassies.
