Overview

The Installation & Service Technician will be primarily involved with construction and installation of overhead track systems and other Handicare products throughout North America. Preventative maintenance and service work on installed equipment also to be completed on an as needed basis. Daily job sites may include construction sites, hospitals, long term care facilities, homes, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Installation of Handicare overhead ceiling lift products by constructing metal framing and attaching to building structure in the acute (hospital), long term care, and home care space.

  • Commitment to following proper OSHA/PPE requirements on jobsites/construction sites, practicing safe working habits at all times.

  • Competency with various construction tools needed to complete a successful installation (hammer drill, chop saw, band saw, hand tools, tape measure, line lasers, etc.)

  • Ability to read dimensioned drawings and blueprints accurately.

  • Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding and scissors lifts for extended periods of time.

  • Work with hands above head for an extended period of time.

  • Lift an average of 50lbs regularly throughout the course of a work.

  • Accurate and regular expense reporting.

  • Daily communication with project manager to ensure on time/on budget project delivery.

  • Ability to travel throughout North America for consecutive weeks at a time. Job potentially could require out of town travel up to 90% of the time.

  • Must have valid driver's license to drive company/rented vehicles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum two years of construction experience, carpentry preferred.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Valid passport preferred.

  • Smart phone for expense and hour tracking (monthly phone allowance to be provided).

  • Ability to travel out of town for extended periods at a

  • time.

  • Good background/driving record.

Education, Experience & Training

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum of 2 years of related experience and or training; preferably in building construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing methods. Basic computer skills.

This is a supervisory role with jobsite management/oversight required.
