To qualify, you'll need to:

  • Possess a valid state driver's license and clean driving record

  • Weigh less than 275 lbs. for ladder safety

  • Lift and move up to 80 lbs.

  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

  • Possibly work in small confined spaces or aloft (up to 28 ft.)

  • Identify wire and cable colors

  • Qualification on pre-employment assessments

Job Summary: The Field Service Technician serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. Responsibilities: * Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers. * Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers. * Provides technical assistance on equipment start-ups, installations and repairs of compressed air systems. Including hands-on work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirements. * Uses precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. * Maintains knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment. Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment. * Serves as technical support for customers and Customer Service Managers. * Submits accurate, detailed daily reports and completes tasks on time. * Documents service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets. * Increases Ingersoll Rand customers awareness of how Ingersoll Rand products, services and solutions; such as Package-Care, Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations. * Maintains rapport with customers by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements. * Ensures proper operation of compressed air equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and 47 point inspections on a wide variety of compressors, refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryers and additional compressed air components. * Works with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs. * Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing professional networks. * Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with established policies, procedures, rules and regulations. * Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment. * Must possess strong customer skills and work ethic: Honest and dedicated to customer satisfaction, reliable, dependable and professional. * A proven track record of observing and actively promoting safety education in the field * Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. * Alert and watchful with a strong attention to detail. * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. * Basic PC and computer system skills. MS Office, iPads, etc. * Candidates must have their own set of standard tools, and be willing to work overtime as needed * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crawl. * The job requires frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 50 pounds. * Must pass a pre-employment and random drug screens. Qualifications: * The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience troubleshooting industrial / commercial mechanical systems. Working knowledge of compressed air systems or a background in HVAC is strongly preferred. * High School diploma (or equivalent) is required and technical education preferred. * Working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting (motors, starters etc.) * Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit and Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years. * Field technicians are at times required to be on call for emergency support and service. * Daily travel to customer sites.
