TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Installation Supervisor to join our team in the San Francisco Bay area.

Job Summary:
The Installation Supervisor performs on-site installation of electronic, electro-mechanical, and low voltage electrical equipment. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PC's, and IP telephony/networking/wireless networking. Determines most cost effective and practical method on installation to minimize customer downtime and expense. Prepares proposals for time, labor and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

  • Generates documentation supporting installation activity.

  • Generates proposals that detail time, labor, materials, and equipment required to perform task.

  • Works closely with customer to determine the best solution.

  • Assists with the training of technicians on newly installed equipment.

  • Prepares schematics and procedures for new equipment.

  • Coordinates activities of subcontractors assisting in the effort.

  • Supervises labor required to perform task.

  • Provides support to installation technicians.

Education: One year certificate from college or technical school.

Language Skills:

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

VIEW JOBS 3/21/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-19T00:00 The Role The Installation Quality Specialist will be the critical link between field installations, local operations and operations leadership, Channel account managers, and the Installation Quality Manager/HQ Quality and Training Team. They will be the primary local agent in a positive feedback loop to improve and maintain installation quality in the region through data collection and direct communication and interaction with operations and installation crews. The primary function of the Installation Quality Specialist is to perform Installation Quality Inspections on a daily basis within a targeted 72 hours of a job's completion and/or On-the-Job-Training with Direct and Certified installers in all markets. Inspections/training will be conducted according to the published Tesla Energy Quality Standards, and all captured data will be entered into the Quality audit database for real-time reporting and sharing within and among all channels. The Installation Quality Specialist will also work with their regional and national Quality Managers to create reports and content based on recent findings which will be presented to managers, individual crews, or entire offices/partnering companies on a regular basis through Warehouse Talks and meetings. The Installation Quality Specialist will also be available to assist with the launching of new offices or new crews, or to work with crews or offices that may be falling behind or having other systemic issues. Also, the Installation Quality Specialist will be an essential part of field testing and launching new products at the local level. The Installation Quality Specialist must lead by example and provide the proper messaging and tone to their teammates and colleagues in Direct and Certified Installation Field Operations. This includes following all safety policies and[BF1] installation best practices, and providing best-in-the-world customer service. This also means serving as a field-facing ambassador who represents Tesla's company culture and values, and who fosters a team spirit and supportive atmosphere for all employees. The Installation Quality Specialist will be instrumental in creating and maintaining a culture of quality within their region. It is necessary that they behave transparently, are self-directed, and believe in Tesla's cause and vision for achieving it. As a representative of the Quality team, it is critical that the Installation Quality Specialist shares the tools and messaging formulated by their local teammates, manager, and HQ-based quality team.
