Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading Installation for assigned territory, providing project management and installation services. Directly responsible for a team of approximately 2-5 direct reports.

Responsible for the financial performance of major and/or multiple construction and retrofit projects. Develops and trains employees and subcontractors. Responsible for the quality of the installation and customer satisfaction.

Represents STERIS Corporation and its interests in job-site decisions affecting daily operations. Responsibilities include delivering installations and ensuring Customer satisfaction with STERIS throughout the process, from pre-installation through start up.


1.Directly manages and develops Installation team members. Owns talent management and talent acquisition to ensure Customer business expectations are met.

2.Plans, organizes, directs and controls all costs of installation and subcontracting for assigned projects. Coordinates resources to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and completion of assigned projects.

3.Verifies with customer that expectations will be met or exceeded through execution of plan.

4.Maintains allocation of costs to financial reporting systems. Effectively communicates financial and physical project status to management.

Manages and provides documentation for the project management file including correspondence, requests for information and timelines. Produces high quality communications adhering to company standards.

5.Provides detailed scope of work and instructions to installers and subcontractors. Verifies understanding of project expectations. Ensures appropriate product training is available / implemented for skill gaps within in-house or subcontractor staff to enable proper installation of STERIS product.

6.Routinely walks job site and attends progress and coordination meetings to ensure quality installation of product. Proactively evaluates potential problems on the job and initiates action to limit negative outcomes. Uses negotiation skills to consistently resolve disputes without the need for escalation.

7.Provides estimates or negotiates work outside original scope. Reviews customer's systems during installation and if needed points out opportunities for improvement resulting in value-added change orders. Pursues, secures and closes change-orders for equitable adjustments to contracts.

8.Coordinates equipment start-up by Field Service Representative in conjunction with District Service Manager. Notifies Sales Representative of equipment readiness for customer in-service training. Ensures job completion documentation is completed and seamless transition to service is achieved.

9.Develops and maintains viable relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, subcontractors and trade personnel. Communicates with architects, equipment planners, and consultants for the purpose of influencing equipment recommendations and specifications relative to installation.

  1. Develops close working relationships with Federal, State, and Local code enforcement officials for the purpose of defining installation requirements for all company equipment. Holds licenses as necessary to support installation of equipment.

  2. Provide feedback to Sales, Service, Marketing and Manufacturing relative to product and/or process quality issues.

Required Experience

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 2 years related project management skills and experience. STERIS field experience preferred.
  • in lieu of degree 6 years' experience in construction project management.

Preferred Experience

1.Prior experience of direct people management experience in a virtual setting is preferred.

2.Experience driving process improvements, familiar with Six Sigma or Lean principles.

3.Strong problem solver. Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations.

4.Strong project management skills and a track record of on-time delivery.

5.Exceptional interpersonal skills, including communication, networking, relationship-building, negotiation, and building influence.

6.Executive presence; ability to interact and influence executive level hospital groups in presentations, issue resolution, etc.

7.Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to develop and analyze financial data.

8.Comfortable in a fast paced, and fluid environment.

9.Creative and strategic thinker who enjoys brainstorming with colleagues and partners.

Voice: PRIs, ePRIs, VMgr, IP Centrex and IP PBXs, Data: Metro Ethernet, SPN (secured private network), COI, Private Lines, Sip Trunking, Burstable Internet, and other Managed Services Desktop phone sets, Cisco Routers, etc. * Major Tasks * * The Project Manager I will manage all Large, Moderately Complex Projects (which may include multisite locations) in support of Cox Business customers. Plans sequencing of projects and directs employees, vendors, and third parties to accomplish projects on agreed upon timeframes. Sets and manages customer expectations and proactively identifies and mitigates project risks. * Manages projects to ensure profitability. Prepares cost analysis to maximize return on investment. Completes margin analysis on specific projects or unanticipated changes. * Services the companys business operations by negotiating installation, platform, and production solutions on companys behalf to ensure project serviceability. * Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment to ensure project serviceability. Responsible for key decisions such as vendor selection decisions, guidance on selecting equipment to best meet customer needs, expediting the scheduling of high profile projects to maximize immediate reoccurring revenue, determines labor required to staff project, etc. * Provides project management for Cox Business service delivery process. Coordinates with Construction to build to new sites. Determines the need for site surveys and conducts as necessary. Determines if coordination is required with other carriers and coordinates as needed. Identifies proper permitting and government approvals required for project and ensures they are obtained. Evaluates the need for vendor work and equipment installation to service location; oversees vendor work and equipment installation to prepare for completion of Large, Moderately Complex Commercial Projects. * Coordinates the delivery of designated Large, Moderately Complex services with customer. Conduct on-site post installation review and installation with customer. * Analyzes communications and requests from clients, support departments, and subcontractors and determine what course of action is necessary. Updates appropriate management team and stakeholders on project status. Communicates project requirements to other departments. * Manages long range logistics and planning for multiple customer projects. Obtains feedback at critical milestones and at project completion to ensure that project efforts are meeting customer expectations for time, cost, and results. * Coordinates with vendors and POCs for building access and install dates. * Work closely with functional business divisions, vendors and customers in defining project priorities, approach, resources requirements and timing of deliverables.
