TOOLS:

Precision measuring instruments which include micrometers, Vernier and dial calipers, surface plates, height gages, dial indicators, protractors, hardness testers, sheet metal layout equipment, digital measurement systems and any other measuring and test equipment used to assure product conformity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training. Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to "protected data" occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.

  • Identify requirements in customer engineering drawings, specifications, and customer purchase orders. Including GD&T.

  • Select and proficiently utilize appropriate measurement tools.

  • Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspection of production parts through the review of work orders, internal and external engineering drawings, tools, and specifications.

  • Document the requirements from customer engineering in AS9102 First Article Forms.

  • Gather objective evidence to complete and submit AS9102 First Article Forms to customers and their representatives.

  • Document the results of inspections: on AS9102 First Article forms, Hardness and Conductivity Logs, Inspection Plans, Work Orders.

  • Identify non-conforming conditions on production parts and tools, document them in manufacturing system, and communicate them to the technical and production teams.

  • Maintain Inspection room and measurement equipment by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs.

  • Maintain mylar storage in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Demonstrates a high level of manufacturing process understanding when interacting with and presenting parts to customer auditing and source personnel.

  • Validate compliance of dies and tools upon receipt and after production use including desktop CAD inspection of vendor provided tooling.

  • Engage in regular training of and pursue learning opportunities to continually improve knowledge, capability, and performance.

  • Support Inspector Level II in becoming proficient with quality procedures, inspection methods, and customer requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass an ITAR-grade background check.

  • Ability to maintain total confidentiality.

  • Must be able to select and utilize appropriate measurement tools.

  • Must be knowledgeable in CAD and CMM systems.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Verisurf and Faro Articulated Arms.

  • Must understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Must be proficient in collecting customer requirements for AS9102 First Articles.

  • Must be able to work unsupervised and maintain the inspection area.

  • Must be able to handle several projects or assignments at the same time.

  • Must be able to work overtime when required.

  • Must be able to stand on their feet 80% of the time.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to hold 5 lbs. for an extended period.

  • Must be proficient in the use of a computers, Microsoft Office software, and other software like Verisurf, InspectionXpert, Net-Inspect, and various customer portals.

  • Must have minimum 5-years of working in the quality field or have equivalent knowledge and experience.

  • Must be able to meet testing requirements or demonstrate knowledge required of ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certification.

  • Must be able to meet testing requirements or demonstrate knowledge required of CMS Certified 3D Metrologist.
