Nordson EFD designs and manufactures components for controlled fluid flow including desktop dispensing equipment, precision valves, tips, dual dispensing cartridges and syringes. JOB SUMMARY

Inspect, pack, and assemble molded parts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and understand production/work orders and assembly level load schedules

  • Operate assembly equipment to meet required output and safely to prevent accidents to self/others and avoid damage to equipment

  • Assist in changeovers and machine maintenance as trained by the technician

  • Keep the machine supplied with all components necessary for smooth operation

  • Accurately fill in labor tickets with proper information for production reporting

  • Maximize the machine output by preventing downtime occurrences, or find and resolve machine jams, misfeeds, or other reasons for machine stoppages, and restart the machine in a timely manner

  • Inspect product for specific quality problems either in the component parts or the assembly operation

  • Communicate quality problems, needs or machine malfunctions to DLS and/or Assemble Department Group Leader

  • Advising the assembly setup mechanic/automation technician on machine or product problems beyond those normally encountered

  • Communicate the necessary information to the shift following to assist them to perform at optimum efficiency

  • Maintain cleanliness of the assembly area and ensure that any special handling and assembly requirements are met

  • Perform other duties which way be assigned by the DLS, GL and LIPA

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Math and reading comprehension

  • Basic troubleshooting and inspection skills

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions

  • Manufacturing environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
