What you will do

Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality fire sprinkler inspections.

How you will do it

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of life safety product lines, as well as similar competitive manufacturer's product line.

  • Learn to complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices, such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.

  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.

  • Input, retrieve and archive inspection documentation program via the laptop computer.

  • Complete assigned inspections on time.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required

  • 5-10 years documented experience in sprinkler systems.

  • NICET Level II Certification

  • RME-I License

  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.

  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.

  • Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.

  • Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.

  • Willing to travel out of town.

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.

  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.

  • Backflow certification

  • Fire Alarm License

  • Fire Extinguisher License Kitchen Hood and Suppression Gas

Work involves making facility inspections, conducting investigations, providing training to Residential Child Care providers, and convening pre-application meetings for applicants. The position interacts routinely with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services staff, representatives from various organizations, and general public Essential Job Functions: * Evaluates new applications and child care facilities to issue licenses and registrations. •Monitors licensed and registered child care facilities, documents compliance or noncompliance with standards using agency forms, and notifies providers of required corrective or adverse actions being taken. •Investigates complaints, serious incidents and reports of minimum standards violations in licensed residential child care facilities. •Provides training and technical assistance to residential child care providers on issues related to minimum standards. •Responds to emergency complaints of high risk situations in licensed operations. •Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations. •Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts. •Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy. Work hours must be flexible and are not considered 8:00-5:00. Occasional work during the evening and weekends is required. Knowledge Skills Abilities: * Knowledge of Texas laws relating to regulation of child care and child abuse/neglect. • Skill in effective verbal and written communication. • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. • Ability to initiate and participate in enforcement of regulations concerning residential child care facilities. • Ability to evaluate facility's operations in relation to agency guidelines for management of residential child care facilities. • Ability to work with diverse groups of people. • Ability to de-escalate situation with tact and diplomacy. • Ability to self-start, organize, and manage priorities • Ability to operate basic office equipment including, fax and copy machines, and camera/AV equipment. • Ability to travel. Registration or Licensure Requirements: This position requires use of the applicant's personal motor vehicle to complete job functions. Applicants for positions must have a reliable motor vehicle, and acceptable driving record for the past five years, and a current, valid Texas driver's license appropriate for the vehicle and passenger or cargo load. Applicants must provide a current driving record and proof of valid driver's license. Initial Selection Criteria: Residential Child Care Licensing Inspector IV: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university OR currently employed as a Child Care Licensing Specialist/Inspector IV. Child Care Licensing Inspector V: Employed as a Residential Child Care Licensing Inspector for two years AND have received Child Care Licensing Inspection Certification OR Currently employed as a Residential Child Care Licensing Inspector V OR previous experience as a Residential Child Care Licensing Inspector V. Child Care Licensing Inspector VI: Four years cumulative Residential Child Care Licensing Inspector experience AND currently employed as a Residential Child Care Licensing Inspector VI AND have received Child Care Licensing Advanced Specialist/Inspector Certification OR currently employed as a Child Care Licensing Inspector VI OR previous experience as a Child Care Licensing Specialist/Inspector VI. Additional Information: Req ID 390360This position may be filled at any level from a RCCL Inspector IV to a RCCL Inspector VI. This position will be in a mobile unit which means the majority of the work will be conducted using mobile technology, such as a tablet and cell phone, while away from the office.
