Duties: Responsible for managing the Household Hazardous waste collection for the City of Pasadena's storm water management program with the EPA. May be required to set up a lien program for residents in violation of City Ordinances and help with code enforcement of solid waste ordinances. This position has some supervisory requirements. Makes appointments for curbside HHW pickup. Calls residents to inform them of what material can be taken care of. Provide leadership and guidance to educate residents and organization about the benefits of proper disposal of hazardous waste. Organize periodic hazardous waste collection events. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent A valid Texas Class B CDL Driver's License. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related field. PREFFERED: Bilingual in English/ Spanish desirable. 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate.

  • Less than 6 years of service - two weeks of vacation per year.

  • From 6 to less than 11 years of service - three weeks of vacation per year.

  • From 11 to less than 21 years of service - four weeks of vacation per year.

  • From 21 to less than 26 years of service - five weeks of vacation per year.

  • From 26 years of service and up - six weeks of vacation per year.
