Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed. A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY(IES):
Knowledge of City of Dallas construction standard appurtenance details and NCTCOG specifications.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
MSOffice or similar software skills.
Dallas Water Utilities Water/Wastewater Facilities Project Management: Must have experience in structural, mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, and I&C inspection. An American Concrete Institute License is required for this position.
Public Works - Construction: Responsible for the inspection of construction projects and/or improvements and repair in public right-of-way (e.g., utility repair/upgrade, street/alley reconstruction, and erosion-control projects) to ensure compliance with city codes, ordinances, standards and specifications. Requires the ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction specifications to provide direction to staff and communicate with outside entities. Also, requires the ability to calculate quantities and sketch as-built information. Requires the experience to train lower level Inspectors, as well as to fill in for the Supervisor when needed. May require various work shifts (including nights, weekends and holidays), the ability to crawl, climb and/or stoop on construction sites and extensive walking. Subject to traffic hazards and varying weather conditions.
Sustainable Development & Construction: Good communication skills are required. This position coordinates pre-construction meetings with developers and contractors. This position processes approval paperwork for City acceptance of infrastructure. The inspected infrastructure is paid for with private money but must be built to City standards.
