Pay

This position is an hourly position at pay grade 113.

Attendance

Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday

  • Friday, 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of plumbing and mechanical components and ensure construction location conforms to adopted Codes and Ordinances

  • Maintain records on all inspections performed and perform data collection and data entry relating to inspections

  • Coordinate with design professional, developers, contractors, and homeowners regarding building inspection activity

  • Maintains records on all inspections performed and performs data collection and data entry relating to inspections

  • Operate a mobile laptop computer

  • Operate City vehicle from project site to project site

  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience

  • State of Texas Plumbing Inspector license required to be obtained within twelve (12) months of employment

  • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

  • Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
