The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB is currently seeking a Construction Inspector in our Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, King of Prussia, Allentown or Philadelphia, PA office.

This position is entry level for training in inspection work under close supervision.

Job Summary

Entry level construction inspection position. Inspects and documents individual activities performed by the contractor in order to monitor compliance with specifications, plans, and other contract provisions.

Essential Responsibility

  • Monitors work of Contractor.

  • Reads and comprehends contract documents.

  • Keeps Inspector's Daily report of assigned work activities.

  • Assists in performing on-site material testing.

  • Produces As-Constructed sketches as required.

  • Performs rudimentary mathematical calculations.

  • Performs measurements of completed work to date.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualification High School Diploma/GED or equivalent All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements

General Work Conditions Field Environment: Work is frequently performed in a field environment in which there is consistent exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.

Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work frequently requires working at client's job site, construction trailer, and in a field environment. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment, and doing extensive walking.

Depending on the specific project, the job may require climbing to various elevations, ability to bend, twist and turn in close clearances, and crawl into confined spaces to perform required work. Select jobs may require work near heavy construction equipment, railroad right of ways, bridges, construction sites, tunnels and airport runways. Work environment may require use of construction/inspection safety equipment including fall equipment. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.

It is a 6 month position, M-F 8 hrs/day with a potential for overtime. Responsibilities: * Applies Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in all areas of responsibility. * Demonstrates and promotes the company vision. * Performs approval of specifications and incoming inspections on material (i.e. drug, components) and distribution shipments. * Performs process inspections, samplings, and audits as required. * Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and assists with root cause investigations for nonconforming issues. * Author's, revises, and complies with all relevant SOP's and Work Instructions and properly documents activities when necessary. * Follows all Thermo Fisher Standard Operating Procedures. * Performs all activities in a safe and efficient manner. * Assures that issues potentially affecting product quality/compliance are escalated to the attention of the Team Leader and/or Management. * Assures that issues are resolved in a timely manner and corrective actions are implemented accordingly. * Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Minimum Qualifications: * Associate's degree A minimum of 1 year of experience in Pharmaceutical or of a related, regulated industry and at least 2 years supervisory experience required. * Experience with Quality Systems (Change Control, deviations, complaint management, documentation management, among others). * Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (35F to 46F) with provided protective wear. * Must be able to work in a freezer environment with provided protective wear. * Must be able to work in potent compound suites with provided protective wear (PPE). * Good reasoning and problem-solving skills, basic math skills, good communication skills, basic computer skills. * Must be willing to work various shifts and overtime depending on business needs. * Must be able to work independently. * Must not be allergic to penicillin or cephalosporin products. * Extensive standing and walking on packaging floor in order to monitor room activities. * Work schedule, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Additional overtime and weekend (Saturday or Sunday) work may be required. * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
