We have an exciting opportunity for an Inspector A to join Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products, a Division of Kaman. This position will perform basic inspection activities of product, materials, first piece inspection and in-process monitoring as assigned. The position reports to Value Stream Manager/Sr. Team Leader on work assignments to meet production schedules. This position has a dotted line to Report to Quality Assurance Supervisor regarding quality issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of various mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerance. Perform first piece and in-process inspection in assigned value stream.

  • Identify defects in surface, dimensional, visual and non-conformities (material, documentation and workmanship) to blueprints and Kamatics' quality standards. Report non-conformance of materials or unusual conditions to Quality Supervisor and cell leader.

  • Use a variety of conventional and advanced inspection devices, CMM tools and instruments to verify dimensions to drawing specifications.

  • Perform all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follow work procedures.

  • Maintain records, data and logs as necessary. Create inspection forms such as IMS, first article and other related forms.

  • Prepare products and related paperwork for presentation to customer or source inspection.

  • Provide leadership/training as needed. Ensure that production schedules are met.

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.

  • Make recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures. Contribute to 5S programs in work area.

  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

High school graduate

Experience:

6 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment

The Otis Service Center's (OSC) Warehouse Operations department is seeking a candidate for swing shift, to fill a Material Handler position. The hours are 12 pm to 8:30 pm. The successful candidate will perform warehouse distribution activities. Job Responsibilities include: * Following all EH&S and safety policies and procedures * Material handling of a variety of components, packaging materials and equipment in support of the Maintenance and Modernization businesses * Maintaining inventory, such as the storage of electronic parts * Shipping outside of the facility * Ability to obtain and retain a valid PIV license, inspect and maintain PIV equipment before use * Actively to participate in daily housekeeping * Performing other duties as assigned * Ability to participate in annual inventories * Adhere to OTIS three Absolutes: SAFETY, ETHICS and QUALITY Physical Demand: If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Education: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent Requirements Safety mindset including the ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
