What You Offer:

The ADESA inside sales representative acts as a tactical partner to clients, building and maintaining relationships with them in order to grow both their business and ours. You'll work with independent new and used car dealers, dealer groups, commercial accounts and others.

As a trusted business partner, you'll assist outside sales reps and the general sales manager in servicing dealer relationships, developing new business and retaining existing business. You'll also educate clients on new and existing services from the company's portfolio that meet the client's individual business needs. We provide the training, technology and tools; you use your personality and perseverance to meet sales volume goals and succeed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for impacting and achieving overall sales goals.

Contact dealers on a daily basis via telephone and internet to solicit and develop new buyer and seller business. Maintain current customers and act as liaison for outside sales representatives, consignment dealers and auction personnel. Complete a minimum number of calls daily/weekly as set by supervisor or manager.

Build strong customer relationships through training, education and awareness to match the customer's needs to the product offerings. Navigate and educate customers on all aspects of and smart phone applications.

Properly use and navigate ADESA's CRM to log calls, run reports, and view dashboards.

Monitor all local competition and recommend competitive strategies to supervisor.

Communicate with all departments to ensure proper marketing of sale inventory and maximize vehicle exposure for sale.

Perform sale day duties such as customer service, block representation and post-sale reporting.

Educational Requirements and

  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of inside sales, account management and/or customer service experience preferred. Prior experience with sales and sales management tracking databases, such as, with emphasis on accurate documentation is preferred.

  • Previous auction experience preferred. Automotive background is helpful.

  • Consultative selling and closing skills or the aptitude to learn these skills.

  • Strong computer ability with basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Highly articulate and persuasive verbal, written communication and listening skills.

  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.

SUMMARY Establishes or improves relationships with customers to better understand sales territory, schedules and customer needs by phone and customer visits. Interviews customers in order to determine the appropriate product desired either by phone or at the company facility and records information into computer for product delivery. Follows up with any specific record-keeping requirements. * Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm''s delivery schedules. * Purchases materials following approved purchasing procedures. * Reviews complaints concerning billing or products sold, referring complaints to designated departments for investigation and resolution. * Prepares correspondence and reports necessary for business transactions. * Recognize when special pricing is required, and provide competitive pricing. * Follow up on all quotations in an attempt to write the order, or receive input for use in future quotations. * Handles difficulties with customers with diplomacy and seeks assistance when needed, to resolve customer order problems and complaints promptly. * Acquires, uses and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty merchandise items to assist customers and other company personnel. * Other responsibilities may be assigned.
