Position Summary: The Inside Sales Representative will act as a liaison, provide products/solutions, and resolve any emerging problems our customers might face with accuracy and efficiency. The best Inside Sales Representatives are genuinely excited to help customers. The goal is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Compensation: Full-time salaried position, with comprehensive employee benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support outside sales team.

  • Field inbound customer calls and follow-up in a timely manner.

  • Review project plans & specs and generate a quote for applicable material.

  • Secondary point of contact for Webstore customers.

  • Package Webstore orders for pick up or delivery.

  • Resolve any shipping issues such as lost, damaged, delayed, etc.

  • Assist customers in showroom.

  • Fill in for Counter Sales at Yard locations when needed.

  • Organize displays and product information on hardscape and masonry products.

  • Assist with inventory control on hardscape and masonry products.

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with our customers.

  • Make targeted calls to customers to generate sales opportunities.

  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives, and follow up to ensure resolution.

  • Attend meetings as necessary.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar study program, Bachelor's degree preferred; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2+ years proven sales record.

  • Building materials experience is a strong plus.

  • Reading project plans & specs.

Work Requirements

  • Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Valid Driver's License (DL) and satisfactory driving record is required.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

  • Maintain professional relationships with internal & external customers.

  • Must be willing to work weekends when necessary.

  • Comply with all regulatory requirements for federal/state OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and The Gerken Companies Environmental Health and Safety rules.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written communication skills.

  • Ability to build rapport and have strong listening, presenting skills and able to give and receive feedback.

  • Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with ability to present themselves professionally.

  • Ability to read, write and compute basic mathematical calculations.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer systems.

  • Skilled in problem solving and communication of any issues.

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to work well and efficiently with others.

  • Ability to use sound and accurate judgment about work processes.

  • Must maintain confidentiality.

  • Must be able to work independently and with groups.

  • Must be able to work under time constraints as needed.
