The purpose of the Inside Sales position is to ensure customer needs are identified and met in a timely manner, achieve customer satisfaction, and meet sales objectives and goals. This position will also identify and close additional purchases of products and services provided by BPS Supply Group.
Build customer and vendor relationships to earn their trust
Become familiar with all facets of the procurement process
Identify revenue opportunities within customers communities through communications, programs and other activities as needed.
Prospecting, qualifying and generating sales within our established guidelines
Understand the price metrics / material provided by purchasing
Understand and use the selling price matrices for existing and new customers
Provide reporting to management as requested
Keep management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports
Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in BPS industry
Additional duties as may be assigned by department supervisor or manager
Basic knowledge of Eclipse System
Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers profitability profiles
Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns
Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples
Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts
Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
Follow company policies and procedures
Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED
Knowledge of basic Inside sales procedures and practices
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
Proven analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to deal calmly and effectively with customers while maintaining and promoting a positive image
Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both customers and company personnel at all organizational levels
Proficiency in the use of computers and software programs; including word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.
