The Inside Sales Rep is responsible for promoting, selling, and driving commission revenue growth for assigned insurance coverage(s) through a variety of processes, including: self-generated new business sales, renewal of existing clients, and the general promotion of Pearl Insurance services. Sales techniques will primarily be over the phone solicitations and sales to current clients, in addition to extensive usage of email, mail, and fax. This position will also respond to inquiries through the call center from policyholders and insurance brokers regarding current coverage(s) and upcoming renewals. Knowledge of Cyber Insurance, EPLI, along with all other lines of commercial insurance beneficial.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conduct high volume of customer contact via phone, email, mail, and fax in order to promote, sell, and renew assigned coverage(s) to ; Primary focus will be Commercial P&C (property), General Liability, Cyber, Workers Compensation, and Commercial Auto insurance coverages; cross-sell ancillary product(s) to existing clients.
Utilize marketing campaigns, advertising, and other marketing methods in order to meet monthly and annual sales goals in the local insurance marketplace.
Facilitate the application and underwriting process with the client and underwriters; complete the application with the client; finalize application and any applicable forms, and prepare information for submission; follow up with the client when additional information is needed to complete the underwriting process.
Present the quote or estimate to prospects; close the sale and manage follow-u; gain market intelligence if unable to close the sale or renewal.
Document sales activities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Build and maintain customer relationships following their first year of coverage by responding to various questions, needs, and requests.
Serve as a back up to other sales and/or Customer Service representatives as needed.
Stay up to date on product, market, and industry knowledge.
Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or a related field; previous business to business sales and/or customer service experience, preferably within the insurance industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interface effectively at all levels within an organization.
Property and Casualty insurance license required (or the ability to obtain).
Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or similar designation(s) preferred.
Valid driver's license with a record of safe driving.
