The Inside Sales Rep is responsible for promoting, selling, and driving commission revenue growth for assigned insurance coverage(s) through a variety of processes, including: self-generated new business sales, renewal of existing clients, and the general promotion of Pearl Insurance services. Sales techniques will primarily be over the phone solicitations and sales to current clients, in addition to extensive usage of email, mail, and fax. This position will also respond to inquiries through the call center from policyholders and insurance brokers regarding current coverage(s) and upcoming renewals. Knowledge of Cyber Insurance, EPLI, along with all other lines of commercial insurance beneficial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct high volume of customer contact via phone, email, mail, and fax in order to promote, sell, and renew assigned coverage(s) to ; Primary focus will be Commercial P&C (property), General Liability, Cyber, Workers Compensation, and Commercial Auto insurance coverages; cross-sell ancillary product(s) to existing clients.

  • Utilize marketing campaigns, advertising, and other marketing methods in order to meet monthly and annual sales goals in the local insurance marketplace.

  • Facilitate the application and underwriting process with the client and underwriters; complete the application with the client; finalize application and any applicable forms, and prepare information for submission; follow up with the client when additional information is needed to complete the underwriting process.

  • Present the quote or estimate to prospects; close the sale and manage follow-u; gain market intelligence if unable to close the sale or renewal.

  • Document sales activities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

  • Build and maintain customer relationships following their first year of coverage by responding to various questions, needs, and requests.

  • Serve as a back up to other sales and/or Customer Service representatives as needed.

  • Stay up to date on product, market, and industry knowledge.


  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, or a related field; previous business to business sales and/or customer service experience, preferably within the insurance industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interface effectively at all levels within an organization.

  • Property and Casualty insurance license required (or the ability to obtain).

  • Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or similar designation(s) preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with a record of safe driving.

VIEW JOBS 6/29/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-09-27T00:00 JOB SUMMARY The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing administrative support to assigned sales regions and/or sales representatives by processing new business applications quote acceptances, binder requests, certificate of insurance requests, etc… Maintains proper account documentation in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system in an effort to ensure all submissions are properly processed, quoted, and accepted. Serves as a backup in the phone system when assigned sales representatives are unavailable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Handle workflow of assigned sales team member(s) when they are out of the office; carbon copy (cc) the sales representative on any email sent on their behalf. * Submit all insurance application to the Application Center for processing upon request. * Submit all quote acceptances to the Service Center for processing request. * Contact customers regarding billing, change order requests, certificate requests, and for general service/mid-term check-in purposes. * Assist with miscellaneous requests from the sales team (Account Executives and Regional Sales Managers), including mailings, running of reports, requests follow ups, and processing 'rush' binders as needed. * Support assigned sales team by properly internally routing all quoting/binding material, certificate and ID card requests, internal/external communication with clients/prospects, Account Coordinators, Underwriters, etc. * Create customer records in the CRM as needed. * Maintain accurate account information and documentation in various systems and databases (CRM). * Meet production quotas and quality standards as set forth by management. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: * Associate's degree in a related field preferred; 1+ years of previous customer service experience within business insurance lines utilizing Siebel or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interface effectively at all levels within an organization.
