Inside Sales

This position works independently and in a product group team to provide customer service to new and existing customers while supporting the strategic plan of the company and sales goals and objectives of the product group team. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Primary Duties:

  • Taking walk-ins, phone calls, appointments, securing own appointments and handling product inquiries.

  • Prepares and interprets customers needs and job requirements from plan specifications, material listing and other information provided.

  • Prepares accurate calculation of quote and clarification of product(s) being quoted, special order lead-times, estimated arrival and delivery.

  • Communicates to customer company process and procedure with regard to review, signed off approvals of final quote, layout, material quantity/description listing, production final and/or shop drawings

  • Provide continuous customer follow up for quotes as well as awarded orders

  • Outside jobsite sales calls and visits may be required

  • Provide administration work for the above and in conjunction with quoting, selling, shipping and receiving, delivery and overall customer service

  • Timely ordering of products and Operations/Warehouse coordination

  • Maintains weekly up to date and current journal of quotes and sales activity reports

  • Attends in-house and/or outside vendor product knowledge training and updates

  • Responsible to maintain own product catalogs, price listings and bidding software programs, sales and technical literature. This to include hardcopy, email and electronic updates

  • Uses a high level of professional skills, courtesy and respect when servicing and inter-acting with customers, vendors/suppliers, industry comrades and all fellow company employees

  • Participates on special projects, events and task as assigned by manager to maintain/improve/increase customer base and product sales

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Building Material Sales or Warehousing Experience

  • Able to work in a fast paced team environment with time constraints, deadlines and organize large workload demands

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills

  • Able to use and operate; telephone, facsimile equipment, personal calculator, copier, printer and desktop computer with standard business software Word, Outlook, Excel
