Summary: This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, meeting goals for sales, GP, and product specials and developing and building relationships with our customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meet or exceed assigned goals for sales, GP, product specials and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Proactively answer phones, respond/resolve customer requests/issues, up sell products/services (subbing out when necessary), and data enter customer orders in DDI
  • Complete call logs and reports as requested or needed
  • Effectively coordinate ordering and/or shipping of product as needed to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Proactively monitor Gross Profit (GP) percentage when entering orders to assure profit margin
  • Professionally provide solutions to customer issues at point of call, and transfer customer calls to appropriate staff, only when necessary
  • Proactively follow-up on customer issues, not immediately resolved, in a timely manner
  • Run backorder report daily and review to keep products moving in a timely manner
  • Check open orders daily, research orders not processed, and resolve any issues in a timely manner
  • Track and inform supervisor daily of inside sales, customer issues, and trends
  • Complete Daily Recap at the end of each day and forward to supervisor(s)
  • Proactively and professionally support field sales staff to assure customer satisfaction
  • Check receiving calendar for vendor deliveries
  • Evaluate and enter pick up of returned merchandise into DDI, checking with Purchasing, as necessary to resolve issues
  • Assure customer signs quote before ordering non-stock/special order items
  • Upon entering walk-in or sales account orders in DDI, enter payment method in the internal notes section, and assure that billing gets a copy of the order in a timely manner
  • Recommend process improvements and opportunities for sales specials and promos
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees
  • Encourage customer participation in WEB ordering and follow up with orders
  • Attend meetings, outside sales visits, training, or conference calls, as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service, phone, sales, communication (verbal and written), and problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Good working knowledge of DDI, or ability to learn
  • Good with math and numbers and excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive, highly accurate, and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct research internet research and analyze data
  • Pleasant, enthusiastic, professional demeanor, required
  • Keyboarding 40+wpm

Education:

High School Diploma and 3+years successful sales/customer service experience or a comparable combination of education and/or experience, is required.
