Purpose:

JBT Corporation (JBT) is a global technology solutions provider to the food processing and air transportation industries with ~$2B in annual revenue. The Protein North America Business Unit, with annual revenue of ~$300M is part of the Protein group within the FoodTech segment of JBT.

The Inside Sales & Marketing Planner works under supervision of the Director of Sales and supports Sales Support and Marketing functions within the Sales Department. The role is intended to improve JBT's penetration into new markets and smaller accounts by identifying new customer targets, qualifying and passing along new leads to Account Managers, desk research to mine databases, read about private equity transactions acquiring smaller food businesses, doing internet research and some field work at trade show / food industry events.

Use Salesforce to track quoting activity by industry segment, product line, account manager and identify / report on emerging trends in the food industry. Complete and maintain a competitive info and lost order report from Salesforce data, industry news and Account Manager competitive update calls. Manage lead generation activity coming from tradeshows and use Salesforce campaigns to track the outcome and conversion of leads originating from tradeshows.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Percent of Time Spent:

Improve JBT sales activity into new markets and smaller accounts.

Qualifying leads, distributing to Account Managers, updating Salesforce contact lists to support e-blasts and other marketing efforts, heavy desk-work to research private equity transactions of small food companies, internet research and database mining

Use Salesforce.com to assist tracking of quoting activity across industry segments, product lines and Account Manager regions.

Other Salesforce.com tasks as needed to support Sales Department initiatives

Maintaining a Competitive Analysis.

Will include a lost order report, industry updates of competitor product launches, and new entrants into the marketplace

Assist with the lead generation process from JBT tradeshows, attend food industry events.

Creating campaigns in Salesforce, qualifying and assigning leads to Account Managers and tracking the outcome of those leads. Field work to attend food industry trade show events

Continue personal skills development.

Continuously assess personal skills and abilities in a constructive way. Determine what areas of training are needed.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in a Business, Marketing or Science discpline is preferred.

Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal, written and listening).

CRM experience, Salesforce.com preferred, or else will get training from JBT.

Able to research new markets, develop broad and then surgical targets, along with goals for the Sales team.


Language, Writing and Reasoning

Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, food industry publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.

Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers. Must be proficient in using the MS Office Suite.

Experience:

Minimum 0 -2 year's experience.

Personal Characteristics:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to handle heavy deskwork sorting through databases and shows an interest in learning new database tools. Interest or past experience in the food industry is preferred.

Effective communication skills (written, spoken and listening) are required along with the ability to interact with others in the Sales and Marketing organization. Must be a focused, proactive self-driver person with strong analytical skills and able to drive accountability and influence the sales team.
