What you'll be doing...

You will be responsible for planning and designing network connecting wire centers in specific local areas. You will mostly design at the physical layer of the 7 layer OSI model.

  • Using the latest Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) technology on an expansive fiber network. The network is designed using the latest equipment and on the fiber plant supporting our customers' video, data and voice services consistent with established tariff and other rules of engagement.

  • Collaborating with various Operations teams.

  • Maintaining and striving to improve the reliability of the network.

  • Being apprised of the technological advancement in the telecom sector, and being a promoter in driving change from a legacy network that consists of mostly SONET, DS3, DS1 and other circuits that make up the North American Digital Hierarchy (NADH) to the Next Generation platform consisting of predominately Optical Transport Networking (OTN) and Ethernet (data) circuits.

  • Understanding the OSMINE process and our aspiration to move to newer and better systems.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields.

  • Working experience and basic knowledge of Telecom Engineering practices.

  • Computer proficiency (windows-based programs and corporate database systems).

  • Superior analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience and high proficiency with Microsoft tools like Excel and/or Access.

We'll trust you to * Serve as Agilist to multiple teams (2-4) * Facilitate various Agile Ceremonies, such as but not limited to: Daily Stand-up, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Retrospective, and Sprint Demo * Act as a coach and mentor to members of the development team, as well as product owners and senior management * Coordinate cross-team collaboration and dependency management * Partner with other Agilists to create psychologically safe spaces and continued improvement in implementing and evolving agility throughout our organization. * Create positive relationships with stakeholders, including management, Product and CTO * Grow the practices, environment, relationships and mindsets of the teams and leaders you work with You need to have * 3+ years of extensive multiple team scrum master experience * Experience introducing Agile/Scrum to both new and existing teams * 2+ years experience in facilitation, guiding groups through processes that help them come to solutions and make decisions * Strong active listening skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences, including developers, team leads, and senior managers. * A deep understanding of Agile frameworks and Lean principles, from mindset and values to practices and tools * Demonstrable self-growth in Agile, Lean and coaching skills * An extensive track record of success in working with development teams, managers and senior leaders as they transitioned to improved ways of working * CSM/A-CSM Certification * BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field We'd love to see * Track record of coaching Product Owners * Understanding of global optimization and scaling, and a familiarity with LeSS, SAFe. * One or more of the following: PSM I, PSM II, CSP, SAFe, LeSS * The ability to impart one's experience, knowledge and guidance to help grow another in the same or similar domains * Expertise in one of: Contemporary agile software engineering, Organizational change, or Value-driven Business and Product strategies and techniques About Bloomberg The energy of a newsroom.
