The Inside Account Manager (IAM) will be the primary contact and business manager from MLS to an assigned list of customers ranging from 20-50 small to mid-sized accounts in the form of a ‘sales block’. The IAM will be accountable to MLS Leadership and local teams to achieve desired sales results from their sales block. The IAM will conduct proactive and reactive customer-based interactions by preparing for customer calls with effective pre-call planning, and maintaining post call notes. This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

Requirements

  • Builds and maintains effective business relationships and a high level of satisfaction with customer decision makers and influencers with a select group of accounts.
  • Conducts regular agenda-based customer meetings to achieve short and mid-term sales objectives and works hard to understand the account’s needs and develops linkage to MLS’ product/service offerings.
  • Maintains sales pipeline management achieving targeted sale conversion win rates.
  • Monitors and documents market and competitive activity in each account and shares market intelligence with local team and MLS Leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, customer service, finance, supply chain and business services to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain industry knowledge, product knowledge and application knowledge suitable to conduct business in a strategic sales function for MLS.
  • Develop full understanding and execution of all processes within business including delivery, build schedules, quoting, customer communication, order fulfillment, shipment, invoicing and whatever else is needed to maintain customer expectations.
  • React positively to constructive direction and maintain a spirit of continuous learning
  • Maintain communication and reporting with MLS Leadership as directed.
  • Maintain the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience; managing key accounts relationships
  • Experience working cross-functionally and achieving increased sales results
  • Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Experience working with CRM and ERP tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite

  • Customer Knowledge and Sales Process: understands the customer's business and strategy, by being able to articulate the strategic fit of MLS to the customer
  • Communication: able to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms to internal and external customers
  • Sales ability: Able to look for and seize profitable business opportunities; willingness to take calculated risks to achieve business goals
  • Strategic Thinking: Able to analyze the organization's competitive position by considering market and industry trends, existing and potential customers (internal and external), and strengths and weaknesses as compared to competitors
  • Relationship Building: Understands the dependencies and interplay between all functions of the business, and has a broad view of the organization

Education Required:

  • BS/BA Degree and 5 years of related experience, will consider the additional applicable experience in lieu of a degree
  • Valid driver’s license and have a driving record in good standing

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain at a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Ability to move products weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting, placing, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to travel domestically

Work Environment:

  • This position has the ability to telecommute at home or an alternative location
  • Must live within an agreed-upon location/ geography to service customers and employees
