Inserter Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shift

General: Pay Range: $16.70 - $23.52 Shift Premium: $.20 for 2nd shift & $.30 3rd shift (based on a progression pay scale) Eligible for $1,000 Sign-on Bonus after 60 days

Your responsibilities

  • The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for efficient productions of quality products in the required quantities.

  • Run an insert machine, coil winder and pre-form press machine.

  • Use Shop Floor Display, read and comprehend: Special Instructions, TDRs, Manufacturing Instructions, and all diagrams related to task.

  • Read a tape measure, scale, and do basic calculations with aid of a computer and/or calculator.

  • Control and adjust machine settings to adhere to blueprints, work from layouts and dimensions on drawings to perform assigned tasks.

  • Identify and order appropriate supplies, parts, and tools as needed and identify materials used at their workstation as required by the job or job process.

  • Use of flex flow and day and rank system

  • Use of air manipulator and hoist for lifting motors.

  • Meet specifications, produce a quality product, work defect free work and meet production goals

  • Production operators to train and/or perform the tasks of the other associates in the area as needed.

  • Communicate with other operators and supervisor to discuss any problems.

  • Support other functions within the team/department.

  • Must be able to work with others in a team environment.

  • Willing to cross train on other position within the team/department.

  • Place safety in the workplace above all else and follow safety guidelines along with reporting safety issues.

  • Daily housekeeping.

  • Work overtime and other duties as needed.

Your background

  • Education and Experience Needed:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required

  • 6 months of Industrial type experience or military service or in lieu of industrial experience will consider vocational/ technical high school and technical college courses or 3 months previous motor manufacturing experience.

  • Motor manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States.

  • Specialized skills or other requirements:

  • Steady work history

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Adaptable to change and ability to cross-train

  • Detailed oriented

  • Must be able to work any shift

  • Must be able to use hoist (in some areas)

  • Physical Demands:

  • Requires repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting of motors/parts weighing up to 60 lbs. Hoist will be used for weight for over 60 lbs.

  • Able to push buggies with parts/motors using between 55 lbs. to 75 lbs. of initial force to move it, with 25 lbs. of sustained force to keep it moving

  • Must be able to have exposure to lubrication, oil and grease

  • Understand and use all required Personal Protective Equipment

  • Able to work 40 hrs a week and required overtime

  • Ability to think independently while successfully functioning in a team environment

  • Able to perform task in a manufacturing environment

  • Standing on concrete floor for 8 hours or more a day

Your responsibilities * Job Description: * • The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for efficient productions of quality products in the required quantities. * • Must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. * • Train and/or perform the tasks of the other associates in the area as needed. * • Perform various job on the Sub assembly line: build, line load, assemble parts and other components. * • Assemble a motor from components per an Assembly diagram and written instructions. Must be able to comprehend all work instructions. * • Use of flex flow and day and rank system * • Use of various hand tools, air tools, and torque wrenches, various gages, and indicators. * • Work defect free work and meet minimum production guide lines. * • Communicate with other operators and supervisor to discuss any problems. * • Identify and order appropriate supplies, parts, and tools as needed. * • Place safety in the workplace above all else and follow safety guidelines along with reporting safety issues. * • Daily housekeeping. * • Work overtime as needed. * • Other duties as assigned. * Your background * Education and Experience Needed: * • HS Diploma or equivalent required * • 6 months of Industrial type experience or military service or in lieu of industrial experience will consider vocational/ technical high school and technical college courses or 3 months previous motor manufacturing experience. * • Motor manufacturing experience preferred. * • Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States. * Specialized skills or other requirements: * • Steady work history * • Reliable transportation to and from work * • Adaptable to change and ability to cross-train * • Detailed oriented * • Must be able to work any shift * • Requires the use of a hoist * • Must be able to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift license * • These jobs require strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives * • Requires basic computer skills * Physical Demands: * • Requires repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting motions. Lifting to 25-30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
