Receptionist - Inpatient Units
Hiring Range: $17 - $19.25 per hour

Purpose:
To provide clerical support, screen and direct phone calls and to welcome and direct visitors appropriately.
To improve the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission. To provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure excellent and responsive customer service by serving as a liaison between the public and KMHS. Screen, inform, and direct incoming and out-going calls within the KMHS system. Direct visitors as requested.
Assist inpatient staff by providing clerical support as requested to facilitate timely and accurate documentation and exchange of information with other agency departments.
Open, sort, and distribute agency mail. Maintain confidentiality regarding mail and sensitive information contained therein. Post checks to the Check/Cash Journal daily as received by the agency.
Open and secure building, to include staff lounge, courtroom, fax machine, and copy room. Report concerns regarding equipment to the appropriate vendor or agency department.
Coordinate current calendar including scheduling courtroom, staff meetings and keeping schedules of staff vacations, days off and agency closure days. Schedule vehicles for intra agency use.
Maintain petty cash, including balancing ledger and making change.
Upon discharge, break down client charts as per Inpatient Unit procedures. Check record for documentation deficiencies and facilitate needed corrections/signatures
Maintain security at front door by screening visitors and checking appointments when people request admittance to AIU lobby.
Assist the YIU staff by copying and assembling goal work packets as requested.
Work with the Chief Medical Officer or Medical Director and On-Call providers to facilitate after-hours provider coverage for the inpatient units for a three month period.
Maintain the Inpatient On-Call Provider calendar in Outlook.
Work with the Sr. Director of 24 Hour Services to facilitate the Administrative MHP On-Call Schedule and distribute to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Assist in providing a comfortable environment and promoting a positive working atmosphere by keeping the lobby, staff lounge and front supply areas neat and equipped. Work with supervisors, maintenance and/or purchasing as appropriate to ensure supplies are adequate and areas are clean and attractive.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. One year related receptionist experience using multi-line phone. Ability to work with the public on the phone and in person. Proficiency in handling busy phones including the ability to work with people and to maintain composure in emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two + years receptionist related experience. Ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Experience in handling money and/or bookkeeping experience. General office skills and effective organizational skills.
