The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital is looking for an Inpatient Pediatric Physical Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be in the pediatric inpatient acute care setting within the NICU and PICU units.

  • Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patient's needs. Assignment will primarily be in the NICU/PICU setting but may also include general pediatrics.

  • Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs.

  • Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner.

  • Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality.

  • Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.

  • Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor's degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required

  • Entry level experience in acute care hospital setting with a pediatric population and/or early intervention setting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centered care.

Licenses/ Certifications:

  • Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.

  • 1-3 of years of experience in one or more of the following patient care specialties in acute care or outpatient setting: NICU, PICU, and/or experience in early intervention

  • Specialized training related to infant development or certification in neonatal therapy.

  • Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting.
