The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an expert in diabetes care. Responsible for the delivery of diabetes care and education that involves compliance with evidence-based clinical standards, outcomes measurement (tracking, analysis, and reporting of clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes) and process design (leading initiatives to facilitate practice-based and organizational change). As a member of the glycemic management team provides direct patient care through implementation of standardized procedures and works collaboratively with the medical team to establish priorities and to assess solutions for patients to ensure they receive the best care possible.

The NP functions under general Nurse Practitioner Standardized Procedure approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (CIDP) and reports to the manager of Diabetes Services. Experience: Clinical background in diabetes management is required. Minimum of 2 years acute care hospital experience is preferred.

Experience in managing insulin pump is preferred and experience in outpatient diabetes services preferred. Spanish fluency preferred.

Education: Master#s Degree in Nursing and relevant Nurse Practitioner training/certification.

Licensure/Certification: Current California RN licensure and authorization as a nurse practitioner required. Certified by a recognized national certifying body that has established standards for nurse practitioners.

Furnishing license issued by the Board of Registered Nursing required. Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) credential required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Equal Opportunity Employer #

VIEW JOBS 4/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-11T00:00 Job Details:The Oncology Nurse Practitioner reports to the Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center, in consultation with the Director of Advance Practice Clinicians. The NP provides direct care to patients undergoing inpatient and outpatient cancer care. The NP will be responsible for supervising outpatient infusions, injections as well as other forms of treatment as ordered by staff physicians. Position works collaboratively with members of the nursing and medical staff, to enhance the continuity of care for patients with multiple medical problems; providing direct care to this group of patients. Also maintains registered nurse competencies by possessing the skills and knowledge to competently provide appropriate patient care. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under general Nurse Practitioner Standardized Procedure approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (CIDP), and provides routine care and management of the patient with acute and chronic complaints in collaboration with the supervising physician and through implementation of standardized procedures. The NP possesses skills and knowledge to competently provide excellent patient care, offer a high level of compassion, patience, and subject matter expertise. The NP will also educate patients and families in terms of services provided by the hospital and community resources when appropriate.Experience:Demonstrated teaching, leadership, and critical thinking skills are essential. Clinical background in cancer management is required. Minimum of 2 years of recent NP experience working with Hematology/Oncology patients. Excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as organizational, analytical, written and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications is preferred.Education:As necessary for required licensures. Master's Degree in Nursing and relevant Nurse Practitioner training certification preferred.Licensure/Certifications:Current California RN licensure and authorization as a nurse practitioner required.
