The City of Cupertino is recruiting for a temporary non-benefited part time Innovation Technology Infrastructure Intern (Intern III) under the Infrastructure Division in the Innovation Technology Department. This entry-level classification is responsible for assisting with the City's help desk support operations and aid with projects as assigned by the Innovation Technology Infrastructure Manager. The Intern will also support the team in updating user and technical documentation as well as provide guidelines for user training where appropriate.

Essential Duties
Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to makereasonableaccommodationssothatqualifiedemployeescanperformtheessentialfunctionsofthejob.
AssistinmaintainingtheCity'snetworksystemsandoperations,includingrespondingtodailyIThelpdeskrequests; engage in proactive problem solving and repair of IT related systems.
Assistininstallation,modifying,upgrading,andmaintainingexistingapplicationssuchasbutnotlimitedtoWindows10/11 and Office 365 applications; support, perform research, and execute IT projects as assigned.
ProvideusersupportforsoftwareapplicationsandtechnicalexpertisetoallstaffregardingtheCity'scomputernetwork system; assist staff in computer applications.
Assistinconfiguring,maintaining,upgradingandinstallingcomputers,printersandperipheralequipmenttothenetwork; install, test and upgrade software; assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
Researchthepurchaseofcomputer-relatedequipmentandperipherals.
Establish and maintain open communication with City staff; coordinate activities and work collaboratively and positively in a professional manner.
Qualifications
Knowledgeof
TCP/IP network concepts relating but not limited to: design, installation, and maintenance of networks.
Understanding of network services such as DHCP, file sharing, and Active Directory.
Microsoft products such as Windows Client/Server, and Office.
Principles of good customer service.
Experience and Education
Applicants must be a recent college graduate or a student currently pursuing a degree from a college, university, or technical school with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, MIS, telecommunications, or related field. A 3.0 GPA or higher is desirable.
LicensesandCertificates
Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required.
Physical Demands
Onacontinuousbasis:stand,sit,bend,squat,climb,kneel,twistandreach,andliftandcarryweightof30poundsorless.
