Salary Hiring Range: $105,000-128,000 annually (paid bi-weekly)

Career Summary:

We are looking for a sharp, dedicated, and ambitious strategist who will play a key role in business development and growth strategy for ANA Innovation initiatives. This candidate must have strong technical skills and communication, a highly organized, critical thinker adept at problem solving, with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail. This multifaceted position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, strong business acumen, and a passion for supporting nurses in their innovative pursuits. This work moves quickly, the candidate must be able to balance multiple projects and deadlines - a must. Position requires robust relational skills to build new programs, products, partnerships, services, and manage operational initiatives. The Innovation Strategist will develop, evaluate, and advance innovation operations through collaborations across the ANA Enterprise, nurses, industry experts, corporate sponsors, nursing organizations, with partners at the state, national, and international levels by developing strategic partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem to support the ANA vision and Innovation initiatives. Will partner with the VP of Innovation to coach and support initiatives inside and outside of the ANA Enterprise. Reports directly to the VP of Innovation. Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis Reporting and Program Initiatives

  • Facilitate and foster a sense of community among nurses interested in innovation. Organize events, forums, and networking opportunities to connect nurses, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

  • In-depth knowledge of the nursing profession and healthcare landscape.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute initiatives from concept to completion.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.

  • Excellent communications skills - demonstrated through executive summaries and presentations, business proposals, professional publications, development of technical papers.

  • Ability to identify, develop and secure new relationships with buyers, decision makers, influencers, and other referral sources.

  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, nursing practices, and innovation trends.

  • Experience creating customer-ready materials, including roadmaps, presentations, business process or re-engineering plans, etc.

  • Drives the development, evaluation, and improvement of ANA Enterprise innovation and operational initiatives, which will include the creation of new programs, partnerships, products, and services.

  • Evaluates and analyzes the effectiveness of programs, metrics, market intelligence, and strategic objectives to build department and organizational resilience.

  • Expands business partnerships and outreach with external partners and organizations.

  • Utilizes agile tools for process development and technology deployment.

  • Establishes analytical frameworks to organize and define optimal strategies and business solutions.

  • Supports operational priorities, metrics, data analysis, and outcomes. Budgetary tracking, contracts, data reconciliation, funding, and forecasting. Maintains understanding of and supports satisfying competing priorities.

  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess effectiveness of current processes and opportunities for transformation.

  • Creates executive reports, metrics, and analysis to build outcome results.

  • Develops and maintains expert knowledge of programs, products, and services across the ANA Enterprise and utilizes current market intelligence, new methodologies, best practices, and industry research to maximize innovation initiatives.

  • Position will provide operational support, analysis, reports, presentations, and high-quality outcomes.

Business Development, Program Design and Research

  • Establishes analytical frameworks to organize and define optimal strategies and solutions.

  • Identifies emerging trends and incubates ideas to drive and orchestrate transformation of programs, projects, partnerships, processes, practices, tools, communications, and mindsets.

  • Identifies, engages, and develops strategic opportunities and new client or partner relationships.

  • Drives new capabilities for current and emerging partner and client relationships.

  • Expected to continuously learn and demonstrate comprehensive understanding of ANA Enterprise programs, services, and offerings to develop and maintain both industry and customer relationships that benefit the ANA Enterprise.

  • Conceptualizes, plans, and implements new products, services, or business models for ANA Innovation and Enterprise

  • Research industry trends and strategic business opportunities for ANA Innovation and ANA Enterprise

  • Co-creates innovation content and materials to expand innovation and design resources across the ANA Enterprise.

  • Supports staff across the ANA Enterprise and the nursing profession by creatively solving problems, building programs, connecting people, and resources.

  • Develops new business models for

  • Education of customers, clients, and teams about the value proposition of ANA Innovation and participate in deep business discussions to ensure solutions are designed to capture business value and he intended success metrics.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Partners with the VP of Innovation to coach and consult inside and outside the organization to further the mission and vision of the ANA Enterprise.

  • Communicates the vision and impact of the Innovation Department in daily work, as an active thought leader through - content writing, publication, and public speaking

  • Dissemination of all ANA Innovation programmatic work across social media.

  • Supports staff across the ANA Enterprise and the nursing profession by creatively solving problems, building programs, and connecting people and resources.

  • Collaborates across a multi-layered structure to support Innovation priorities.

  • Facilitates design and innovation sessions to discover opportunities that may better the association and its stakeholders. Leads and supports stakeholders with developing, transforming, and implementing quality outcomes.

  • Facilitates innovative conversations, initiatives, and programs with strategic partners.

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with nurse thought leaders, organizations, and partners.

  • Collaborate to create opportunities for nurses to engage in innovative projects and initiatives.

  • Facilitate and foster a sense of community among nurses interested in innovation. Organize events, forums, and networking opportunities to connect nurses, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

External Partnerships and Corporate Relationships

  • Establishes and maintains external relationships as needed to support and advance ANA's Innovation work. This could include collaboration and coordination with nurses, nursing organizations, industry experts, corporate sponsors, and national organizations to align and develop strategic partnerships.

  • Collaborates across the ANA Enterprise, and with industry experts, corporate sponsors, and national organizations to develop the strategy and partnerships required to support the ANA Innovation vision and initiatives.

  • Integrates ANA Innovation Advisory Board and Innovation Advisory Committee initiatives and artifacts with broader ANA Enterprise strategic work.

  • Coach and consult inside and outside the organization to further the mission and vision of the ANA Enterprise.

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required to do so.

Education

  • Business degree and work-related experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or another business-related field

Related Work Experience

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing innovation strategies within the healthcare sector.

  • Healthcare business and consulting experience related to organizational leadership, innovation, change management, strategy that resulted in new or improved operational structures that have been financially sustainable and successful.

  • Successful management of programmatic initiatives in healthcare settings.

  • Experience working independently or collaboratively in a team and with diverse stakeholders, trans-disciplinary team members.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a successful growth strategy, sales, forecasting, closing deals, and delivery.

  • Skilled in strategic planning through demonstrated analytical skills, communication skills, understanding the big picture, research and data analysis skills, strategic thinking abilities and effective presentation skills.

  • Advanced experience with CRM databases, leading large pursuit teams, with Microsoft Office tools, with design and presentation of proposals and promotional material, along with goal achievement.

Work Schedule:

Hybrid employees must work a minimum of 20% in the office.
