Position Summary:
Mercurian Labs aims to create transformative change through innovative ideas, strategies, and solutions to problems using a disciplined innovation methodology. Our team collaborates with individuals and groups to advance and support innovation throughout our organization.
In this role, the Innovation Scientist will collaborate with various project teams to help identify and evaluate solutions by creating experiments, prototypes and applying design thinking and structured innovation approaches. Ensures data-driven decisions are focused on delivering sustainable business value.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops, supports, and applies disciplined innovation methodology throughout the organization.
Engages in innovation or technology development projects to identify and build solutions by understanding the problem to solve or the strategy to develop using Mercurian Innovation methodology. Assesses information gathered from various sources, reconcile conflicts, and differentiates user requests from actual underlying needs. Conducts market and competitive research to identify innovative solutions and strategies.
Designs, performs, and monitors data-driven experiments to test business and technical hypotheses. Exercises a data-driven approach to problem-solving with an emphasis on early-stage prototyping and incubation. Evaluates, implements, and transitions potential solutions by working with various stakeholders and teams throughout the organization. Ensures successful transition of innovation projects.
Advises team members and stakeholders on key issues by understanding their needs and direction. Assists both individuals and teams to help them to accelerate innovation in their space
Handles solution development and implementation, change management, quantification of the operational impact of the solution/initiative, and share progress updates with stakeholders.
Serves as a consultant for innovation to encourage an innovation culture across the organization. Communicates the importance of transformative innovation.
Collaborates with internal and external customers, leaders, and other stakeholders.
