Every day, almost 20,000 Hartford HealthCare employees come to work with one thing in common: Pride in what we do, knowing every moment matters here. We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network. Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us. Job Summary: * The CESI Business Development Executive (BDE) position is a new opportunity for a highly motivated sales professional. The BDE will be responsible for selling principally CESI's bio-skill laboratory, simulation based medical education and related services to medical device, and pharmaceutical corporations located principally in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. * As a part of the mandate, the BDE will also engage in brand awareness and development in agreed upon markets as well as ongoing individual client relationship management. Because CESI seeks to have longer term relationships with its clients, CESI strongly prefers a BDE who pursues a consultative vs. transactional selling model in developing new clients and managing relationships. * As the BDE generates and qualified leads, the BDE will partner with CESI's bio-skills laboratory, medical education service managers, and other CESI colleagues in managing the prospective client during the collaborative solution development process through to the close of the sale. The BDE will also liaise closely with CESI professionals in producing proposals and contracts. * The BDE will also operate within and broadly represent the standards and values of HHC as the mandate is pursued. CESI seeks growth in revenue, margin, and numbers and types of clients. This position will report directly to CESI's Director of Operations with strategic direction from CESI's senior management team. Job Responsibilities: * Learn and understand all the prospects, the available opportunities within, and relevant dynamics within the assigned territory. * Develop state/regional business intelligence on relevant trends and market influencers like regulators * Raise brand awareness of CESI's services and value proposition for covered medical device and pharmaceutical companies by distributing marketing collateral, conducting email marketing campaigns, attending conferences, making individual sales calls, and otherwise developing CESI's brand within the territory. * Generate and qualify leads from clients new to CESI - a target number per time interval to be agreed. * Achieve revenue, prospect and client growth targets for dedicated service lines - such targets to be agreed * Partner with CESI service managers and colleagues in managing sales pipeline to convert qualified leads to closed clients. * Manage client relationships in collaboration with CESI service managers. * Seek to re-sell and up-sell current clients/divisions, and to grow existing relationships by further developing leads in other divisions * Work with CESI resources in developing marketing plans for CESI's bio-skills laboratory and medical education services. * Cross-selling – Provide information to prospects on HHC and relevant services, as appropriate. * Perform other related duties as required * Bachelor's Degree required. * 3 years sales experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical fields preferred * Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to influence others and maintain a strong focus on achieving results. * Be an effective multi-tasker and project manager. * Develops and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders and constituents * Exhibits leadership and coaching skills, motivates CESI team members, and shows appreciation for CESI's team's efforts * Conducts himself / herself according to HHC values: Caring, Excellence, Safety and Integrity * Consistently exhibits HHC H3W Leadership Behaviors * Become and stay well-respected within CESI and HHC and maintains a positive attitude * Be a Team player within CESI in addition to the broader HHC, as applicable * Able to manage the mandate and its goals, and be accountable to timelines and targets. * Proponent for change and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset * Approach problems constructively by focusing on how to move the project forward * Explores and analyzes alternatives. Uses ingenuity and innovative thinking to define solutions to business problems * Skilled in the use of CRM software programs We take great care of careers.
