Job Summary:

We are looking for a sharp, dedicated, and ambitious lead who will play a key role in business development and growth strategy across all ANA Innovation initiatives. As Innovation Lead, you must possess strong technical, written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, a critical thinker adept at problem solving, and exhibit exceptional follow-through and attention to detail. The Innovation Lead will support the ANA Innovation initiatives and team members. This work moves quickly, and you must have excellent time-management skills while balancing multiple projects and deadlines. Additionally, you will demonstrate proactive leadership in order to coordinate and engage across ANA Innovation initiatives, calendars, activities, and events, and you will partner directly with the VP of Innovation to advance initiatives within the ANA Innovation Team and across the ANA Enterprise.

What you will do:

Business

  • Ensure resources are optimized to achieve strategic objectives, including the supervision and evaluation of quality of work by external vendors.

  • Solves problems, develops plans, and provides direction related to innovation, process improvement, operational efficiency, and work and professional experiences.

  • Develops and maintains expert knowledge of programs, products, and services across the ANA Enterprise by utilizing current market intelligence, new methodologies, and best practices to maximize innovation initiatives.

  • Assists in managing, evaluating, and improving ANA Enterprise innovation and operational initiatives including the creation of new programs, products, and services.

  • Establishes and supports external relationships as needed to support and advance ANA's Innovation strategy.

  • Embraces change and ambiguity and maintains understanding of and supports competing priorities and requirements.

Project Management, Analysis, Modeling & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Vice President of Innovation to allocate resources effectively, including budget management, and other operational requirements to ensure resources are optimized to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Tracks operational priorities, metrics, data analysis, and outcomes.

  • Budgetary tracking, contract management, data reconciliation, funding, and forecasting.

  • Collaborates with appropriate program staff to develop and execute innovation work consistent with goals and resources.

  • Designs, develops, and supports reporting processes.

  • Collects, monitors, interprets, and audits Innovation department data.

  • Identifies, evaluates, and utilizes tools to support analysis, modeling, and validation of data.

  • Creates executive reports, metrics, and analysis to build outcome results for internal and external audiences that have dashboards, graphs, and visualization tools that illustrate and convey relevant data and valued perspective in support of advancing and achieving the ANA Enterprise's mission and strategic goals.

  • Creates a departmental and programmatic annual report of Innovation initiatives.

  • Establish and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the high standard of innovation programs. Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze data and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of innovation initiatives.

Program Administration

  • Administers and coordinates departmental operations including calendar maintenance, contract management, and event planning.

  • Manages communications by providing and/or responding to emails, surveys, newsletters, Innovation website, communities, advisory board, committees, partners, and stakeholders with updates.

  • Responsible for opening innovation events and communicating updates and upcoming events.

  • Writes copy, editing and proof reading, builds creative assets, and shares innovative work across social media channels.

  • Collaborates with appropriate program staff to develop and execute innovation work consistent with goals and resources.

  • Partners with the VP of Innovation to coach and consult inside and outside the organization to further the mission and vision of the ANA Enterprise.

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required to do so.

  • Establishes and maintains external relationships as needed to support and advance ANA's Innovation work. This could include collaboration and coordination with nurses, nursing organizations, industry experts, corporate sponsors, and national organizations to align and develop strategic partnerships.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute initiatives from concept to completion.

Communication, Collaboration, and Administration

  • Connects resources and assistance to help nurse innovators be successful.

  • Communicates innovation related topics, presentations, policies, procedures, and practices in writing and verbally to internal and external stakeholders in small and large group or team settings.

  • Foster collaboration among team members and various departments to facilitate the successful implementation of innovation programs. Coordinate with external partners and vendors as needed.

  • Collaborates across a multilayered structure to support Innovation priorities.

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with nurse thought leaders, organizations, and partners.

  • Collaborate to create opportunities for nurses to engage in innovative projects and initiatives.

  • Facilitate and foster a sense of community among nurses interested in innovation. Organize events, forums, and networking opportunities to connect nurses, encouraging knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

  • Serves as a trusted and empathetic advisor.

  • Facilitates initiatives through collaboration across the ANA Enterprise, and with nurses, industry experts, corporate sponsors, nursing organizations and partners at the state, national, and international levels to develop the strategy and partnerships required to support the ANA Innovation vision and initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Registered Nurse preferred.

  • Project Management Certification preferred.

Related Work Experience:

  • Relevant business experience, processes, and operational efficiency

  • Experience managing projects involving team members from various departments, staff levels, and external vendors

  • Progressive experience in coordination of projects with multiple complexities and concurrent tasks.

  • In-depth knowledge of the nursing profession and healthcare landscape.

  • Deep experience facilitating design, process improvement, and collaborating events.

  • Experience with communicating and content creation across multi-modal platforms (print, digital, social, video, podcast, etc.).

  • Professional publication and research experience

  • Proven experience in operations management and project management.

  • Familiarity with innovation processes and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and creative environment.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Skills:

  • Ability to prioritize competing demands to enhance smooth operations. Knowledge of project management tools, methods, and best practices that align with ANA's mission, values, and strategic priorities.

  • Exceptional project management, research, process improvement, metric tracking, data analysis, facilitation, content writing, and presentation skills. Leadership skill in process improvement. Proficiency in project management tools and software.

  • Proficiency in translating data, concepts, and ideas into presentation quality output.

Work Schedule:

Hybrid employees must work a minimum of 20% in the office.
